I just pay attention to details- and occasionally note it.
seems fairly common for giveaways to have a point release difference between the current # displayed in the history/revision and the installer metadata (when it's there, anyway) and the close-to-same once-offs for the giveaway.
Just a point or 2 up or down, even a full version behind the current full-up software.
In this instance I was wondering if 4.14 might work better than 4.12 (can't do much checking, the machine that has it loaded is pretty much a hanger queen until I do a good cherry-pick for stuff as yet unsaved elsewhere and then can do some burn-in to make sure I found the problem) which I couldn't get running for some reason. After a *lot* of trying.
This repeat gives me a way to try it on different hardware, but with 2 systems off the LAN with bad NIC's, plus one playing boat anchor I gotta find someplace to back up *to*, if you see what I mean. bloody heat.
