   Too many features left out of the free edition for my taste- I'll stick with XMedia Recode (currently at 2.2.5.8- site's in german but the program does English fine) as it has many of the STOIK Pro version features for free.

   A note of caution: the system requirements for STOIK state Pentium 4 or better- this often means it needs something like the SSE2 extensions which AMD didn't have in the 32 bit Athlon CPU's- Athlon, Athlon XP will probably not run it, but the 64 bit AMD's will. (that was a gotcha with the Sagelight 48-bit image editor that bit me, so I try and pass it on- alas my Athlon XP is down right now or I'd be able to say for sure.)

   for editing MPEG-2/MPEG TS the tool to reach for (if you got it when it was given away) is Womble MPEG wizard DVD.

   avanquest fix-it utillites 10 essentials. is free for this weekend only, on v3 software store. sorry do not know to post a new thread or download link. you need to set up a free account fist.
