Bubblestorm (1.24Mb)
At first it may seem like a rather simple take on MINDistortion's earlier effort, Bubbles until you realize it doesn't have any of the bonus pick-ups which made Bubbles so much fun, though it does have a slow down and get rid of the red bubbles power ups. Never the less, Bubblestorm is good quality all of its own and plays more like an arena shooter where you have no bullets.
As you drift aimlessly around your small section of space, the area around you slowly fills with bubbles. are they bubbles like you? Or are they different? As you discover which bubbles are friendly, which are harmful and which produce effects (if you didn't read the title screen) you soon discover to eat the ones exactly like you and avoid the red ones. Avoidance becomes increasingly difficult as you increase in size with each successful meal thereby putting you in further danger of being popped.
It's simple, but oh so fun. Which is probably due to its incredibly infectious soundtrack, which plays like Aphex Twin in one of his happier moods.
If you liked Bubbles, chances are you'll like this, too. If you haven't had a chance to play either game yet, then you'd best get started. Both Bubbles and Bubblestorm are recommended for a quick enjoyable break.

The game requires the following dynamic link library file cncs232.dll. Unpack the zip file and place the dll file inside the game folder. There is no installer so you’ll need to place the unpacked game, which when first unzipped will contain the game executable a data folder and a read me. Add cncs232.dll once it’s been unpacked then place the games folder to a suitable place, usually Program files, but I usually create a seprtate games folder. Then create a shortcut from the game executable (the blue orb like icon). If you want a shortcut placed in the start menu/programs list there’s a short tutorial to be found in the game discussion forums. I’ve made it a sticky, so it’s easy to find. The installed game is nearly 2Mb in size.
