Amazon is having a promotion for college students where they can sign up for a free 1 year subscription to Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime is an upgrade in shipping to free 2 day shipping on any purchase. They already have a free trial of Amazon Prime for 1 month, but a whole year is just nuts. I used my free 1 month trial quite a bit so I imagine I'll be taking advantage of this 1 year subscription just as much. In order to qualify, you must be attending a 2 or 4 year college and have a valid .edu mailing address. I'm pretty sure this promotion is only open to college students in the United States, though.

@Chip: try writing customer service, offer to show/fax/scan & email your student ID, or whatever they require w/o the .edu address?

the page wizzard_of_ozz2004 linked to is just a brief explanation & you can click to two different pages...
"Get started":
https://www.amazon.com/gp/student/signup"Amazon Student FAQ":
https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200500380get started leads you to the amazon sign-in page, then it asks for your .edu address to verify...
all three green on WOT...
try customer service, tell them about the security risk, & ask for an alternate sign-up method?...you do have the screenshot showing you can't access the site...
