I seem to be having a problem leaving a comment on the download page of the daily giveaway.
I have left a few comments, and they never show up on the page, ever??
They are not offensive and I don't ever make trouble here.
So why don't my comments show up????
I think my opinion is every bit as valid as anyone else's.

Sorry, but there is no definite answer to your question. We had that discussion several times before, please scan the forums for those threads.
You are not the only user who has problems to get a comment through sometimes. We mods and admins had the same experience too.
The forums and the comments are moderated by different persons, only BuBBy is administrator here and there,of course not 24/7; he is always helpful, if somebody has a concrete question.

Speaking of weird, I don’t really get what this program would be good for. Ok, maybe to make a disk label, but what else?
I’ve been sitting in this office clicking away for years, and never once have I had a need for a 3D image of a box.
But you wait.
Tomorrow afternoon, only a few hours after this giveaway is done, someone will call me up and say…”heyyyyyyyy, you know what kind of image I really really need”?
Let me think on this and see what the others say.
Here is my take on this comment (Don't take this personally - there are plenty from others exactly like it...
1. Comment on Votes/Thumbs etc - some people even suggesting there is some conspiracy to change history or something was improper, the vendor has voted on their own product to make it look better than it really is (never with any proof other than 'the votes are turning out different to what I think they should').
2. Little story of how you have no use for the software, or cannot see the point of such software. Other users just prefer to announce the giveaway is "crap", or that it is a trial (they downloaded the wrong link or didn't see the readme).
3. "I think I'll wait and decide later" - completely unhelpful almost as much as users who post "It looks nice, but I haven't downloaded it yet - I wait to see what everyone else says. I have to go to the shops and buy some milk first". Post your views on the software after you have downloaded and used the software. If everyone posted "I'll decide whether to download it later" - just think what the comment section would look like.
Perhaps whoever was moderating felt that the comment really offered nothing extra or worthwhile. Occasionally some such comments do slip through - but more often than not the moderators try to spare everyone from having to read through comments that are pointless. In this case, I would've deleted the comment also.
Another surefire way to have your comment trashed - post asking why your posts don't get published.
Each day there could be 10,000 or 20,000 or more users coming to the site and some of those want to read comments to get an insight on the download - and judge how popular it is.
"Someone's rigged the voting. I have no use for this software, but I'll wait and maybe I'll download it later" is comment trashcan material.

What BuBBy is saying is moderators have to look at a lot of messages similar to yours. What mods want are constructive criticism. If you read a lot of comments that do come through, you can see them being written by people who have no idea of basic app troubleshooting. However, their comments are one step better than comments by people who haven't even downloaded the program.
Let's go through each of your statements:

I'd say more, but my keyboard is arranged in an odd way in relationship to my monitor and it doesn't make it easy for me to type.

FWIW, since the hoo-rah wound up about blocking ads and in-the-way elements on the site I found out the hard way (I use NoScript and normally only allow the base giveawayoftheday.com site permission to run) that you also have to enable 208.94.233.132 or your comments just... vanish. Never show up as 'waiting for moderation' or anything else. Though if you try to post the same thing the site tells you it's a dupe. strange, but true.
So there might be a problem with permissions- and the mods never see it.
I'm not going to say other reasons may apply- but that one caught me by surprise.
YMMV.
Goody, do you mean the linkinformer.js?
I have disabled that, and it happened, that my comments vanished, but not every time.

NoScript doesn't detail what scripts it blocks, just which domains it allows to operate. it blocks by source rather than specific software.
and it pops up as that IP address, no domain name associated with it. When I make comments anymore I temporarily allow it, then when I leave the site it's blocked again.
Google.com, googleadservices.com, addthis.com, dt00.net, doclix.com, informer.com, and quantserve.com all appear on my 'recently blocked sites' list. I haven't got this copy of firefox fully loaded with add-ons, so I don't have the developer tools handy.
googlesyndication.com, google-analytics.com, and 208.94.233.132 appear in the list that I can temporarily or permanently allow. I suppose I could have done a whois, but since I rarely comment I haven't bothered.

<sigh> Are you serious? Maybe that's where all my comments are going! But really, comments on WordPress shouldn't depend on something from Informer to get posted. WordPress itself is more than capable of handling comments without external scripts of uncertain origins.
