   If so, be aware that you are wasting 644 MB of space on your hard drive.

   The game just came out the other day but I see it as their number 1 free game right now. I have notified Jenkat of the problem but that was Friday night and they have not yet responded.

   The problem is not the game itself, it is the build. Jenkat has always placed their games in 2 different places withing Program Files (with or without the "(x86)" for 64 bit OS users. They place part of the game in a folder in Program Files. They place more of the game in a folder under Program Files\Common Files. In this case, they duplicated most of the files in both places! There are 211 files that are totally duplicated in the two folders meaning that one folder uses 644 MB and the other uses 655 MB. The difference is the REAL program executable in the Common Files location.

   There is no logical reason for 211 duplicated files. It is a total waste of 644 MB of space.

   I have solved the problem by merging the two folders into the one in Program Files and then moving that outside of the Program Files area. I did have to make my own shortcut, but that's no problem. However, seeing how the game has jumped in the "ratings", I'm concerned about people wasting that much space (several games can be used instead) without realizing it.

   As I said, I have notified them and I suspect they will pull the game while they fix it. I will post what I hear from them and, if I can, when they have this problem fixed.

   In the meantime, I suggest that the game be removed until the problem is fixed unless you plan on doing as I did - merging/moving the folders.

   Mine did not install in Program Files\Common Files, But it did install in Program Files(x86).

   I tried to download this game last week from Shockwave and found it was a very strange download. It took an unusually long time and my firewall gave me a warning. I blocked the request that the firewall was concerned about. I then got a message that the changes would be made to my computer after I started it again which has never happened with a game download. I freaked out, deleted the game and ran a virus scan which came up clean. Fortunately nothing new seemed to be on the computer the next time I started up. I don't know if that was related to what you're talking about but I'm not going to try it again. I had previously downloaded the demo from BFG with no problems.

   I downloaded this but haven't got a particularly quick connection so I've no idea how long it took - I saw it was quite a big file anyway so went away and did something else! When I've DL'd something from JenKat I always move it over to a different partition where I've got all my games, and I totally agree with Dragonlair in that when I moved it over I saw that everything seemed to be duplicated. I'll go ahead and play it but will almost certainly delete it when I've finished given its rather negative reviews.

   It's the first time I've noticed this problem in a JenKat download, but what I find strange is the way sometimes most of the files end up in Program Files and only a couple in Common Files, and sometimes it's the other way round.

   What you experienced is just the variation of the install when you have a 64 bit version of windows. I had mentioned that 64 bit had the "(x86)" but just dropped it for simplicity when I explained that part.

   I agree. Sometimes you get most of the games in one folder and others most of the files in the other one. Sometimes the executable is the same name, even.

   The one thing that is consistent is the executable in Program Files (with or without the "(x86)"), is a dummy that simply invokes the one in the Common Files sub-folder. That's why I merge the way I do - Common Files version OVER it's parent!

   I have heard back from Jenkat and they are looking into the problem. They have not yet removed the game so the problem is still there.

   I forgot to post the other day. This game install has been fixed. I had a friend hold off installing it because she's not as comfortable correcting the doubling up issue. It installed correctly for her.
