   lol Goodgotd. Traditionally I've been able to do what I want on fahers day except for the last few years because my wife has wanted to invite her own dad around for a meal. Suffice it to say, I have to tow the line on these ocassions; no comfortable cloths, no inappropriate conversation (which includes anything my wife knows my father in law will not agree with) plus lots of other stuff. That said, he did bring around loads of recorded programs that I wanted recording whi;le I was on vacation plus my kids were brilliant today; they bought me a nice little present and card to celebrate and even crept around in the morning so as not to wake me too early.

   Happy fathers day to all other dads. :)

   that's a bright side? 100% disabled in a bitty town, flat broke by the 10th of the month, paying on last year's property taxes... holidays and weekends are just days, with less open. bah, humbug.

   WR, I'm the source of recordings, with the problem of converting to formats people can play. not a divx dvd player or computer-linked tv in town so far... except mine (the latter- in spades, display and record, 2 computers play only, the 2800+ has both an mpeg-2 vivo vidcard and a multiformat hardware-divx-compression-in-realtime capture box on a usb 2 link.), and I may be getting a vidcard with hdmi out- but no hdtv to aim it at. anyone for columbo?

   goodgotd, I can relate to your situation the only thing I can say is there are allot of good caring people that you can talk to if you need them, including myself, I too am disabled on a fixed income and understand where your coming from. I will PM you with my e-mail address if you would like someone to talk to that truly understands.
