So do I, but I am not really a HOG fan. I only played and liked a few HOG games, but for people who don't have it or maybe you know someone who is a gamer and don't have it. You could give them the info and they can get it for free and they would have you to thank for it. (talking to everyone)

Edit: I wish they chose a different game too, but oh well.

Yeah, I'm not a big HOG fan either. I like some, but to be honest the last few years have seen a massive influx of the things and I found them just a little too boring after a while; in fact I cancelled my Big fish subscription because most of their new games seemed to be HOG's. I still have four game credits from nearly a year ago that I haven't used simply because they haven't had any new games that have appealed to me. I think the last one I got from big fish was Zombie Bowl ‘o’ Rama, but I now have that on Steam as well. One of the things I don’t like about Big Fish games is the inability to give the games away to someone who would appreciate them when I’m done with them, or when I get one that’s easier to install.

I must admit, I’ve not checked their site for quite a few months so should go and see if I can spend these credits. :) I bet they are still pedaling out lots of HOG’s though. I wish they would get more indie games. There have been some fantastic Indie releases over the last few years.

WR, they still still are very big on HOGs, but they also have lots of other games. I am like you, I play an occasional HOG, but am not big on them. For one thing, I mostly play BFG games on netbook when I travel as they have low system requirements and the casual games are easy to get into for a short while. However, the small screen isn't HOG friendly. As I have gotten older, I need reading glasses for small print so that is another downside of HOGs for me.

However, BFG has many other options. There are tons of time management games if you like that sort of thing and also lots of virtual villager type of games, match 3 games, card and mahjong, and adventures like Nancy Drew, Syberia, etc. And there are also lesser numbers of other sorts of games.

A few that I have tried and liked and you might check are Garden Defense (tower defense), Snapshot Adventures - Secret of Bird Island (you spot and photograph birds, got me noticing the many birds around our area), Simplz Zoo (match 3 & zoo building game also available on Steam), Pathstorm (puzzle game) and I also kind of enjoyed Life Quest (a time management life simulator although it is really about organizing or ordering your choices as there isn't any time limit). That is in addition to occasionally playing some of the other types I mentioned. For example I loved Fairway Solitaire and I recently played a HOG I got on sale.

yes I too have gotten weary of HOG games..
There are few very good ones but the good ones stay in ones" memory(like Ravenhearst, which I liked too even though I had to play it with the lights on..lol)

I like adventure games or interactive hogs, which are far more fun...Bigfish has a good selection of adventure games (one just needs a big harddrive..something which is NOT mine(and more and more rapidly shrinking..lol)

For those of you who are interested, you can get one of the following Big Fish Games for Free:

Diner Dash, Sweetopia, Plantasia, TriJinx, or Egg vs Chicken

Choose the game of your choice (DO NOT initially sign in to your account)
Buy the Game
In the shopping cart, enter the free game coupon code PLAYFIRST5GAME
THEN sign in and finish your transaction.

Using the above stated method, Big Fish will not automatically deduct any exisiting game credit. If you sign into your account first and then buy the game using the coupon code, the BIG FISH system will automatically deduct any existing game club credit instead of applying the free game coupon code.

FireBride.....Thanks for the info! I just played the last ten minutes of a one hour trial of TriJinx from Gamehouse last night and decided I really liked it. Thanks Firebride. That's a great setup. I already have TriJinx. as you get farther into that game, it's rough! I don't care for time management games or the kind that Sweetopia is so I tried Egg Vs. Chicken. I figured for free, I couldn't go wrong. It's cute! It's a puzzle game more than the action it claimed.

I'm so happy that you all were able to take advantage of this offer and receive a nice free game to enjoy. I bought Egg vs. Chicken-it looks cute....
It's also nice to have access to a free game without any "baggage" of unwanted viruses, etc....

Alianthia, I don't really mind HOG's, but don't care for the ones with dim, hard-to-see graphics. If it's hard for me to find a bunch of items on one list, and I am being timed, then I will pass it by. One of my favorite HOG's is Big City Adventure: San Francisco, which I have played through at least a couple of times. It's been a while, though, and I've forgotten how it ends, so am replaying it.

Firebride, thanks for the heads-up on those games. There is one particular giveaway site I usually check several times a week for new games giveaways, and such. In fact, I had just checked it last night. Just on a hunch, I checked it after reading your post, and found it there. In fact, it even had a clickable link for each game. BTW, I got Sweetopia, which I have played, to an extent, from mostfun games. I want to get away from that sites games, asap, though, because it has too many ads - not only between levels, but during game play.
