These games were created as part of a game design course in my University that I took last fall. But since my Major is Computer Science and I had been in University for a few years it was really easy. I'll only post my second game right now because I'm almost done a remake of my first game that I plan to post sometime next week. I'm also going to post some of the games that the other teams have created that I think are good. See the bottom of this post for the download.
Starship
Starship was the second game I worked on. Everyone on my team did a great job and the game turned out great. This game is an arena combat game where you control a massive battleship and not a fighter ship. This means that you move very slowly but have powerful shields and weapons to annihilate your enemies. There are multiple levels and the objective is to kill all the enemies in each level.
This version was actually created after the final submitted version. We got together to fix a few remaining bug, finish the powerup system, and also added a bonus level with a surprise encounter with the ----- ----. Powerups include health restore, infinite railgun for a few seconds, and the Nuke.
Controls:
Up Arrow - Accelerate
Down Arrow - Decelerate
Left Arrow - Turn left
Right Arrow - Turn right
Z - Fire lasers (side)
X - Fire missiles (side)
C - Fire railgun (front)
Backspace - Restart Level
Cheats (Number Keys):
0 - Skip Level
1 - God Mode
2 - Toggle Infinite Railgun
3 - Activate Nuke Powerup
Shoot'em in the Head
Seith is about you trying to survive the zombie apocalypse and reach the safety of a vault somewhere across town. This game has great artwork considering that most of the team were artists. But unfortunately many features were cut because the game was way too ambitious.
Chicken'em in the Head
I actually created this as an unofficial modification of Shoot'em in the Head. One of the ideas that the original team had was to have super powerups such as a chicken attack from Zelda. So I thought it would be funny to replace the bullet graphics with a chicken (and also edit a few menus here and there) and this was the result.
Antarctic Rescue
This game is a platformer where you play as a penguin that has to rescue your son from evil human scientists. It was also created by the same people who created Seith so it has great graphics.
Controls:
Left/Right Arrows - Move
Up Arrow - Jump
Down Arrow - Break weak walls
Space - Suicide
Enter - Level Skip (cheat)
Pogo Sheep
Pogo Sheep is a funny game where you control a sheep with legs replaced by a ... spring who is trying to bounce up the clouds. As you get higher the clouds get smaller so it becomes harder to continue bouncing up them. Luckily you can collect powerups to help you and obtain a high score.
Wallballs
Wallballs is an interesting puzzle game where the goal is to collide two different balls. One ball moves in the same direction as the arrow keys, the other ball moves in the opposite direction.
Doctor Kill
Doctor Kill is a first person shooting game where you have to shoot the bad guys before they shoot you. It's good but it's a bit short.
Loops
Loops is a twist where you have the paddles in the center to protect the "life blocks". This games has what could be the most complete story out of all these games. The gameplay isn't that great though because levels sometimes complete themselves without you doing anything. So I included two versions, a test version and a normal version. The test version has less blocks but it seems to have a bug causing the level to not complete if you destroy the blocks too quickly before any remaining blocks have time to spawn.
Duck Hunter 9001
Play as a guy in a vehicle hunting ducks. Unfortunately the ducks are evil and are trying to kill you. Use your multiple weapons to kill them to get a high score.
Press Q or Die
In this game you must quickly press the letters as they appear on screen otherwise you die.
Satellite Smashers
In Satellite Smashers you control a satellite that is able to orbit different moons and try to reach the end of each level while avoiding asteroids and planets. But the gameplay isn't that great.
