   Alright so as those of you may already know my grandmom is in a nursing home going through rehabilitation after her shoulder surgery. There is a TV in her room and a universal remote that is not programmed to the TV. They have given her a long stick for the time being to reach to the front panel of the TV and change the channel that way. I've tried many codes and cannot find the one that works. It's a 4 digit code so I know it's between 0000 and 9999 which is alot of possibilities.

   These are the specs for the TV. If you can tell me what code may work I'd appreciate it.

   You need to tell us what universal remote it is too.

   A lot of remotes have a "scroll-through" feature, where you just keep on tapping Channel + or something, so when the TV turns off (or switches channels) you know you have the right code. Also, there probably aren't 10000 code possibilities, but maybe a couple thousand, just because it's not necessary to repeat codes for every single kind of TV because a lot of them use the same codes.

   ayuh, it's the remote you need the code list/manual for- after that the equipment to control is easy. a lotta remotes have a scan, but usually it cycles through all the codes by itself and you hit a stop button when the power cycles on the tv.

   though that can give you just basic controls, not the unusual ones like tuner/line-in input control. several places online that have manual/code lists available- once you have the remote model or part # use a search engine and see if you can find it.

   so- what remote was it that you used?? I got a real challenge for you- find a remote with a code for a philips dvp-3050v 2005 era VCR/DVD player that lets one remote control both the vcr and the dvd. good luck. I got a stack of remotes, had to use 2 to get most functions of each.
