   What are the best free antivirus, firewalls, HIPS, malware cleanup, sandbox, encryption and privacy tools available?

   I've not seen a better, more comprehensive list of (mostly) free security related tools.

   I'd hope everyone would've heard of the site by now - It is the best Freeware site on the net (Disclaimer: I'm a little biased).

   A bias I share. The main advantage is how frequently it's updated. It's volunteer editors and community are quite active, so it stays the most up to date set of lists I've seen anywhere. The editors look at other sources and take the software recommendations of the community seriously. They try to check out the suggestions and add the worthier ones to the lists. And everything on the site is dated, so you know exactly how old the info. is. And it has a LOT of useful tutorials, articles, and lists, including my favorite: portable software.
