Tried Web Stream Recorder+their guide, it's a bit tricky at the beginning but then I managed to save FLV clips with ease (that's why I wanted it).

I can't seem to register my copy. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

do you need windows media player 9 to download youtube streams or is it just for windows media streams?
Posted 17 years ago # -
After installing it the software inform us that it's a trial version and one can only record 2 minutes for each video. Is this a scam?

works for me...

You need to close the software, and copy the key file into the program's directory, .cfg one. It's in the downloaded package.
No, you don't need WM 9 for Youtube videos, you need FLV player.Posted 17 years ago # -
This program does not record BBC aod or live broadcasts. I've tried it and It appears, as is implied by the blurb about the program, that it only works with Windows media and Shoutcast (Mp3).

I've installed it, but can't figure out how to copy the key file into the program directory... Do I have to use the "run" feature in Windows?

You can try our Direct Stream Recorder, which can record video/audio directly from screen and audio devices.Posted 17 years ago # -
Right click it, and press "Copy". Then goto where it needs to be, and right click "Paste".
Hope it helped :/

The question is "where does it need to be..." I've tried pasting it into the program file, and it just pulls up the program registrations page. We do I paste it??
Thanks!Posted 17 years ago # -
Install the software, close it, open the archive file which you download from our web-site, extract .cfg file into the software's folder, typically C:\\... bla-bla-bla....\Web Stream Recorder Pro\.

How can i open the wsrecorder.cfg ? I get the message with what programm to open it. Can maybe someone explane it to me in dutch.
Posted 17 years ago # -
Got it. Thanks!

Sara, you do not need to open it, you need to extract it from the archive, and copy it into the software's folder.
Posted 17 years ago # -
How do i extract it ?
Posted 17 years ago # -
If you have winzip or winrar or something similar, typically you can right-click the file and select "Extract to specified directory". Then select the program's folder and click Ok.

No ,i don´t have one of them ,thanks for the information

Windows itself supports .zip archives even if no archiving software is installed, so just copy this .cfg file from the archive folder into the program folder.

Sorry i don´t understand english well about computers stuff,i am dutch
Thanks anywayPosted 17 years ago # -
You can use a combination of tools to get the bbc radio.
If you need help finding the stream url, you can use a url snooper.
Then just copy the streaming url into whatever program you choose to
use to record. I would recommend using the Windows Media Player
version of the stream, then you can use SDP to record it.Posted 17 years ago # -
Opening wsrecorder.exe brings up a box asking for my Username and a Serial number. It also says I am limited to 2 minutes per clip. What's all this about and what do I fill in?
Posted 17 years ago # -
You need to close the software, extract .cfg file which is provided in the archive file into software's folder, and run the software again. That's it.

1. I see it installs winpcap. When newer versions of winpcap come up, will we be able to remove the old version and install the new version and it will (should) still work?
2. The "tip of the day" contained some very interesting information. Be sure to read them :-) Tetris? :-)
3. Suggestions for the confusion factor being expressed in the comments...
3a. GAOTD, I think the readme could be just a tad more precise. The activate popup looks fairly good and precise, maybe having the readme have a copy of that wording would help? Would numbered steps help any? I know several don't have a problem with getting it registered, but on these "trickier" registration steps, this ~might~ help others a little.
3b. Freebe for GAOTD: Since some folks are visual learners. There is an excellent cool free program called "wink" (http://www.debugmode.com/wink/) that allows you to make/record/edit visual isntructions out of what you are doing on the Windows desktop into a adobe flash (swf) file that users could watch from your web page. Very cool, very easy, and lots of features. You could put one together for each package (not that you don't already have enough to do getting the package ready, I am sure), and make it available. ~Maybe~ this would cut back on confusion? ;-)
4a. As for sara47 and the windows extracting zips, Windows XP does have zip extraction capabilities, but not earlier versions of Windows (like 2000, etc). I think you just right click on the zip file, and there is an extract feature you can select that places the files in the current folder.
Thanks for all of your efforts to bring us free software!
