   Gametop.com have several vehicle based games plus a few on similar lines to todays game for example KGB hunter, Mad Truckers and Extreme Rally as well as todays game giveaway, which is available 24/7, you’ll find a wheeled games thread in the forums and there’s also lots of car based games in the free games synopsis, such as the first two Grad Theft auto games GTA I & II, and Death Rally (there’s now an updated version of Death Rally that no longer requires you to use DOSBox. Of course thee are many more vehicle based games fro these sources, but I’ve only mentioned those gaes that include Vehicular combat.

   You can also get a free online game called Darkwind: War on Wheels that’s set in a post apocalyptic society. Also last years release called Fuel could be classed in this genre, and is probably the best of the lot for amazing graphics

   Apart from Metal Gear I can attest to all of the other games being of good quality and very playable, especially Fuel, Flatout Ultimate Carnage, Crash time III as well as some of the freeware games, because I’ve purchased (or downloaded in the case if the freebies) and played all of them extensively. Most of the commercial games I've mentioned can now be bought for bargain price's if you now where to look. (check out GOG for the first flatout game, but too be honest I'd get flatout 2 as it's got better car physics.

   Thanks for reminding me.

   The free games synopsis is still being updated. I was almost finished several weeks ago then hit a wall with respect to the time i'd been spending here on the site and writing reviews. so have been taking a long break from regular posting. Hopefully once i return from my vacation in June i'll be much refreshed. :)

   Lol, no problem....carmageddon was ok, but the link is for carmageddon 2 which was superior in a few ways......tdr was also cool...but I will always love the simplistic carnage of carma 2....

   I will help out a bit.....
   Carmageddon is basically a "drive anywhere on the map, destroy the other racers and pedestrians to obtain as much points and cash as you can to win" carnage type racing game.

   You have cool toys like nitro, weapons, repairs, jumps (for those really cool acrobatic type "death to all" stunts...which you also get decent points for).

   Now, this game series has been out long enough to have many wonderful addons...everything from maps to cars, there are a few "enhancement" type cheats which allow the player to do wild aerial stunts and "powerups on the fly".

   A pretty decent "timewaster" if you just want to kick back and giggle maniacally while "owning" the landscape.

   (hint, look for rooftop access ramps which will let you jump from the tops of buildings)

   There are time trials (finish the race within a certain time....don`t let the other racers wreck your ride), and a "free range" race (in which the point is to destroy all the other racers).....plus plus....

   You may have to run this game in compatibility mode to play as this series was introduced and run during the win98 to winxp era....although I have seen compatibility patches floating around (google it).
