I've posted this in the forums to try and keep to the rules that I've just added with respect to posting in the game giveaway section. It's in answer to someone saying that it was installed on their computer without their permission. Hopefully there will be a few knowlegeable contributors who can explain in both technical and laymans terms what Software informer is and why it could be regarded as a useful piece of kit, or the opposite.
Anyway, to answer the community members statement, who said the following:
"I just thought I'd let people know that this also installs another program called "software Informer" without asking for your consent. It isn't even mentioned in the install instructions on this website or the read me txt file. Not a very good way to do business".
In answer to your query
Software informer is NOT installed on anyones computer unless they give the program permission to do so. I will make sure I take some screen captures next time I install a giveaway to support this statement.
It is so easy to allow something to be installed on your computerif you aren't taking much notice of the installation process. So you probably have inadvertently allowed software informer permission to install. There's no question about the fact that it needs your permission before it will install.
