   What I want to know is what happens to the games we already have that we have to apply for new unlock codes for when we shift them to a new computer? I sent Reflexive an email a week ago, but an answer has been conspicuous by its absence!

   Anyone know?

   That's really bad news as I've got over 800 games from Reflexive. Hmmm, will have to contact them to see what I can do about this (I bought such a riduculous number because I found playing new games was very effective at deadening the constant pain I'm in. so for over 2 years I was buying a couple of games virtually every day from Reflexive). I preferred buying from them to any other distributor partly because I saw them as a well established and safe place to purchase. Most of those have hardly been played as well. If Reflexive are going under I wonder what will happen with respect to reactivating my games?

   You are right Graylox, the competition for customers has got to be the primary reason for their demise. Arcade Games were on average $19.99 up to about 2 years ago unless you joined organizations like Real Arcade with their massive discounts. (I though Real Arcade had bought up Reflexive). I was wondering when something lik this would happen and I'm sure it's not going to be the last game house to go when you have houses like 'Gamehouse' giving away a game every day (be it with advertising)

   Ricochet Infinity is one of the best arkanids ever made, with a massive fan base that have created hundreds of thousands of free levels. Which has just caused me to think; once Reflexive close, the access to all these free levels is probably going to be stopped because it's part of Reflexive. So, if you've got Ricochet infinity i'd go downloading as many of the A and B rated freebies as you can before it's too late. (though there is always the possibility that someone will take on the task of hosting all those free levels).

   That really seems like a great deal or not. If I were to get a game I would want that game to be mine forever and since I take the computer back to factory settings a lot and have a lot of games I own buy are not installed on the computer that wouldn't be a good deal for me.

   I own one Reflexive game (was a freebie) and I am glad that is all I own from them.

   It doesn't say the games, nor the activation codes will become invalid after the deadline - just that you can't get them from them.

   I recommend you do what I always do - save the downloaded install file AND the unlock code and back them up. That way you can re-install after a destructive restore.

   I have a couple of Reflexive games (I don't know how many because I have them listed by where I got them, not who made them) and all were purchased elsewhere. Even Ricochet Extreme was from Amazon (for free).

   Reflexive was purchased by Amazon a couple of years ago, this 'portal' change relates to that as much as the current casual games business climate. As it stands now if you don't install and activate your games by the end of July then you will lose access to them. Whether a solution to that dilemma gets developed before or after that time is anyone's guess. Reflexive and it's people have always been good guys but as of now their hands and mouths are bound by strong Amazon legal bindings.

   Page two explains how Reflexive developed games will continue to be supported, meaning all level sets and such will remain accessible. Page five mentions one method that activated games can be permanently archived.

   I don't have any games purchased from Reflexive but my advice would be to download and archive all Reflexive based installers of the games you rightfully own, at the very least, in case some final universal registration patch shows up later.

   That makes me nervous that the site that shall not be mentioned (if you don't know what I'm referring to see my thread from yesterday) will do the same thing and I will lose all of the games I bought from them. I guess I better get a lot of flash drives and start saving like crazy.

   For Ricochet games - they do have their own site and you can get the extra levels there. I see no indication that that site will be bowled over by the Reflexive change.

   they wil have to create patches because the registration codes are only good for the computer they are installed to. any chanes to the cpu or motherboard requires a new registration code. So backing up all my reg codes isn't going to be a viable option because I update my computers every few years. I'm just about due to upgrade the cpu's so all the Reflexive games I do have installed will deactivate and I will have to go through the process again.

   I'm sure something will be done with regards to a patch for these games. I'll just have to keep an eye on the forums over at Reflexive and see what develops.

    So THAT'S what happened to all the games on hubby's computer! His motherboard had to be replaced due to a power surge, and that explains why! Several things said I had to reinstall the program, (the files were still there), and here I was, upset with the computer store for losing a lot of our stuff!
