   Have another problem and tried to fix it for past 2 days, to no avail. Need help. Please know that I use Windows 2000 Pro. Tried to run Malwarebytes and got pop-up:
   " Run-time error '383: 'Text' property is read only. "

   Researched this, and of course got confused, but somewhere saw the words Visual Basic and Windows XP. So searched my computer for Windows XP. Found 2 files with XP in it:

   1) Windows XP Prefetch Files.pl
   2) WIndows XP Recent Run Programs.pl

   If my notes are correct, these words were found in WinUtilities7/nc-plugins. (Am clueless as to what Visual Basic, plugins, etc., are.)

   And my computer is quite sluggish. Am fearful it's infected again and, if so, what to do since Malwarebytes isn't operating correctly? Ya'll were my savors before, so maybe can aid me again. Thank you in advance.

   I am certainly nowhere near as knowledgable as others on this forum but I do know XP is a more recent Operating System than Windows 2000. I don't think you can have both. Is it possible that Malwarebytes does not work on an older system? I have XP and have had no problem with Malwarebytes.

   You have to install

   Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Common Controls

   To leofelix: Thank you! Your suggestion worked. Am back to where I was before I had this problem, and that's really great.

   And thank you for the link to the Malwarebytes forum. Have saved it, and will go it to when I finish this. I want to try to understand why, when I click the icon on my monitor, it reads "... running in another instance" or something like that.

   Once again, a GOTD member to the rescue! Again, thank you, leofelix.
