   When I go to encode the .wmv, it stops and says "encoding aborted". Got
   xp sp2 with media player v10. Any idea why this happens?

   I dunno, can't seem to find the system requirements- maybe sp3? why are you still at sp2?

   SP3 always crashed me. I tried the HD version of this free one and it worked. Strange.

   FYI, just got an email reply from ashampoo and they said:
   -----------------------------------------------------------
   thank you for your eMail.

   Please update the Windows Mediaplayer to Version 11 and install also the
   Windows Media Encoder 9 for Windows XP.
