When I got that message on Vista, it just closed down and when I manually opened it back up, it was fine. It seems to work great under Vista.

Hi Don8714, how do you know it is not activated? I ask that question because the program also asked me to re-start the program, and it successfully did activate in my situation (using Win 7, 32-bit, OS). The registration information is (and should be)located in the "About" section of the program. Look there - hopefully, you'll see it.

make sure you have admin permissions....

I didn't have to run in admin mode to install or run it. It worked fine just as is.

Couldn't get this software as I kept getting the 502 message. Pity as I needed an editor to edit the exif info. I think there were some alternatives posted in the comments section though.

ExifCleaner only strips photographic metadata (Exif and others) no editing.
here are the free metadata tools for images I posted:
EXIF editors:
http://www.kiwiczech.net/index.php
EXIFeditor 2.2.2994.3886 (win98+ and .NET 2.0+)
and
MetaEditor 3.1.7.0 (winxp+ and .NET 3.0+, more features)stripper:
metadata stripper jStrip 3.3 by the same author that supplies the handy utility CROA. (clear read-only attributes)
