To All GOATD Members who has encountered the same issue as the above, please help me out to solve the issue.
My OS is Vista 64Bit Service Pak 2
I keep getting an error msg which says d3dx9_33.dll missing, when I opened a few programs where most of them are from GOATD. Tried to fix the issue by downloading and installing the latest DirectX 9, restarted my laptop but the same Error msg appeared when I tried using a prog. again.
How do I Fix this problem?

There are a lot of dlls that were dropped with Vista. I'm Vista32 Ultimate SP2 and I've had to pick up one or two from there.
As to where you put this, I'm not sure. If it's small, it may be easier to put it with whatever applications are squawking.

Actually, Dragonlair, a better alternative would be to use the DirectX Runtime updater, here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en . It'll install all DirectX updates, including the above-mentioned file, and if applicable, also updates your DirectX to version 11.

I suggested the direct dll file because Serenity said she had tried to update her DirectX. I think I've got 9, 10 AND 11 ;)

check your card for max DirectX version if it 9c you can not get DerectX 11 to work, my PC is windows 7 max DirectX is 9c with Radeon 9600 Graphics Card Vista drivers only,is this a old PC ? some info may help like Video card ? " Graphics Display " (NVIDIA) ATI Radeon ?
DirectX 10 is for Vista and DirectX 11 is for Windows 7 from what I've heard. I understand that XP does not support 10 or 11. However, I found out (courtesy of WhiteRabbit) that you can have multiple versions of DirectX on your machine at one time. Most products find and use the highest you have but others are very specific as to what they accept.

Unlike other dll errors which can have complicated causes and fixes, d3dx9_33.dll issues are caused in one way or another by a single issue - some kind of problem with Microsoft DirectX.
The d3dx9_33.dll file is one of many files contained in the DirectX software collection.
Since DirectX is utilized by most Windows based games and advanced graphics programs, d3dx9_33.dll errors usually show up only when using these programs.
Important Note: Do not, under any circumstances, download the d3dx9_33.dll DLL file individually from any "DLL download site"
There are a number of different reasons* that downloading DLLs from these sites are never a good idea.

Note: If you've already downloaded d3dx9_33.dll from one of those DLL download sites, remove it from wherever you put it.

I'll accept "The Dragon"'s report. I was just trying to help based on the fact that she said she had tried to install the correct version. If my link causes problems in this case, don't use it - it does help in some cases (with other files).

While Windows 7 is fully compatible with games and hardware that use older versions of DirectX, the new DirectX 11 features are available with a DirectX 11 compatible graphics card and games designed to take advantage of this new technology.
ATI has DirectX 11 cards available today! (DirectX 11 is very new so need new card)

My computer is 3 years old. I have an NVIDIA graphics card. If you look at NVIDIA, it says I have DirectX 10. However, if you look at the DirectX Diagnostic tool, it says I have DirectX 11. I know I installed DirectX 9c for one game that INSISTED on it. That's why I said I have 3 versions and I do NOT have a new card. It may not handle ALL of DirectX 11 capabilities but it says I have it!

@Dragonlair: Different games use different versions of DirectX. DirectX 11 is your current Windows DirectX version. DirectX 10 is the maximum supported by your graphic card. DirectX 9 is what most games use, but some also can use DX10, while very few use DX11.
