I was thinking of downloading this after I checked out the link that compared the various AV and firewall packages and mine (Avira - Zone Alarm free firewall) were pretty far down the list, however I see that the AV package is A-squared and I had a lot of problems with that program. Can I download the offer today and get the activation code but install either both or part of the package at a later date without interfering with the programs I am using now? Thanks for your advice on this.

Yeah, I'd like to know the same thing. I have a free version of iolo. Thanks, in advance.

The activation code is valid for 31 days. So yes, but for only 31 days (also useful if you want a license for 1 year and 31 days XD)

OK I downloaded it and got the activation code but haven't done anything else so far.

I'm trying to download it now and am having a hard time. The wizard froze in the middle and I can't find it on my computer.
BTW GGOTD forums is showing that my last post was 1 week ago and I know it was way longer than that.

Hi Terri, the time posted is only a general timing
for example for the first hour it will record the time posted in minutes, but then once it records 1 hour it no longer records minutes, similarily, once it;s recorded 1 day it wont shoe hours, so even after posting it after 1 day and 23 hours it will show one day. Then once it switches over to weeks it only shows weeks and months then years; so despite it showing your post was posted a week ago, it could have been 1 week 6 days and 23 hours and 59 minutes ago. :) I think Onlin Armour was posted on the 28th or 29th January which means it will soon be showing 2 weeks.Be sure to get it installed before the 31 days are up. If you downloaded it previously (i.e. it was given away back in June 09), you can still use that installation , just re register it.
It's one of my favorite giveaway programs.

Thanks for that info. I seem to have finally installed it successfully and it already blocked what I think is the same program that got me into trouble yesterday. The firewall is already better than Zone Alarm because by the time Zone Alarm had given me the warning yesterday, the program was already installed on my computer creating havoc.
I have removed Avira and Zone Alarm. It seems as if Malwarebytes, WOT and WinPatrol are not working so I assume I have to redownload these three?
I hope one day a-squared will allow me to complete a full system scan.
I also decided to change printers since the old one had finally run completely out of ink and I was going to switch anyway. I am feeling VERY overwhelmed right now.
Computers are great when they work and a nightmare when they don't.

Tell me about it.
I've had a fault on my very expensive printer for over a week now. Nothing I do will clear it, so I was taken to PC World yesterday and purchased a cheap printer for a tenth of what I paid for my decent one. now all I need to do is follow the instructions to instll it, lol.
When I look at the quality of the overall finish I can see why my new pronter was so cheap. It looks cheap, but hopefully it will do the job I need it to. It's a HP Deskjuet F2400 series. The only down side, ( well 2 downers) are the scanner resolution isn't as good as my broken one (I can't access the scanner either becasue of the printer error) and it won't copy slides and negatives like my first one did. Now I rue the day I put aside that job to do something else. I only copied about 1% of my slides and negatives, which is annoying, but poetic justice for being so lazy.

One thing I already hate about Online Armor is that my computer is now much slower. I guess it checks every single thing you do.

They actually sent me a Happy Birthday e-mail. I was really surprised and impressed.

A lot of them are Terri28, some more than others LOL.

Does this program run automatic virus signature updates or do I have to do it manually? Avira used to tell me what date the last update and last scan was run but I don't see anything like that on AO. And if I set the scan to run automatically, does that include the update of the virus signatures? It seems as if I have to run the Wizard to update the virus signatures.
Thanks.

it does update (for the year from activation) if you set it that way, but at times you may want to set it to manual update- [right-click, configuration, general tab, up top- I set it to daily but you can run it down to every hour(!)] and also find where the realtime OASIS whitelist update checkbox is, [right-click, configuration, programs, options tab, near the bottom] so it doesn't hammer a dvd recording or drag on an online game.
If you have a newer/better equipped system than mine, probably it won't effect you as it does my pre-'96 athlon XP. I still need to find where to get a good blacklist and install a modest hosts file, I forgot that when I went XP after the last system meltdown. (I *hate* intermittent memory sticks!!)
Last scan I haven't found yet (probably in config-history) but the general page has the last update and version on it [right-click, configuration, general]
OTOH, 2 cascaded NAT routers with built-in firewalls, noscript, google sharing, plus WOT keeps most bugs at bay, avast on all the computers but this one and online armor++ here... shouldn't need that big a hosts file...
