Which is better, WinUtilities 9.3 Pro or TuneUp Utilities 2010? I've been using TuneUp for awhile and it's quite good, does anyone who's used both or knows about both know which one's better?

I think TuneUp Utilities is better

@ RoseD1: Why?
Isn't it just a matter of taste?
I use none of these.Posted 14 years ago # -
I personally prefer WinUtilities, but the best way to find out is to download it today, and compare.

I always liked tuneup better, seems more pro-ish.

It is a simple matter to install both, and try both for a few weeks and then decide for yourself. (I also don't use either).

told TuneUp Utilities 2010 not as good is TuneUp Utilities 2009 as it click and hope 2009 you can look and see fist looks ok click and fix

TuneUp Utilities 2010 does allow you to first see before doing anything. You just need to know how to do it. It's not as straightforward as 2009, but the new features and added windows 7 compatibility makes it much better than 2009.

Upon testing, TuneUp is the clear winner. The one feature that WinUtilities has that TuneUp doesn't have is the .exe locker. TuneUp has a much greater variety of features and has proven that it works extremely well. Their new "Turbo Mode" feature and their support for Windows 7 visual styles makes them a clear number 1 in my mind.

Yes Bubb, I have both installed (TU 2009 and WU v9.37. Like TU better,
but have the other just for the heck of it).Posted 14 years ago # -
I use system mechanic but I have had my share of problems with system mechanic.

@ Dsep, you already got many useful suggestions.
Either way, I do not use Registry Cleaner and System Optimizers, in my opinion those kind of softwares can be really dangerous.
Have a glance here please

In my opinion CCleaner is enough and safe to use.
Piriform develops other free useful and well done programs, like Defraggler, Recuva and Speccyhttp://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds
http://www.piriform.com/defraggler
http://www.piriform.com/speccy
Just download the slim version (with no toolbar) and use them when necessary

I've used a number of them and was favorably impressed with WinUtils, especially with their Duplicate File Finder tool. A very useful tool that just doesn't appear in the other utility suites.
Based on comments here and on the daily DL page, I thought I would give Tune-Up a try. I downloaded and installed it but I won't even bother running it: The arrogance of the installation tells me that it is not worth the disk space it takes up. It installed without so much as a "by your leave" for any installation options such as where to install the program or links. Not since the early days of DOS have I seen such behavior.
I certainly do NOT want to put a utility suite in the default "Program Files" directory! This is "malware" in a different sense. And looking over the functionality of the suite on the web site it looks pretty minimal anyway. It also left over 100 trash entries in the registry when I uninstalled it.Posted 14 years ago # -
Art Kns, to answer your comment about the "100 trash entries in the registry when I uninstalled it."
I recommend you download & install the "Revo Uninstaller" utility. This is an excellent program that I use to delete all other programs on my computer. Revo Uninstaller will give users the option of searching for (and finding) all other programs' registry entries, to ensure that everything is deleted from a user's PC.
Revo Uninstaller has worked very well for me every time I uninstalled a program.
Best,

@ HappyPerson, REVO UNINTALLER free is the best in my opinion too, thank you.
I had forgotten to mention it.Unfortunately the free version doesn't support Windows Vista/7 64 bit.
I wonder if GOTD will give away REVO UNINSTALLER PRO:-)
Cheers
