My firewall gave me a malicious file warning when I tried to download this.

After reading your post I downloaded this software and scanned it with Kaspersky and it didn't indicate anything. What firewall are you using and remember that the installer must contact this site or it wouldn't get registered. In other words I think that your firewall may have given you a false positive Terri218.

Yes, Terry, the same here, no complaints from Kaspersky or my other security tools.
It may be, that your firewall sees some of the AnVir tools as dangerous, because they are looking rather deep into your system. Tell your firewall that it is a good guy.Posted 14 years ago # -
I have ZoneAlarm. It said that the program was trying to steal my passwords so I didn't want to take any chances. I wasn't really sure what this software was anyway but I thought the part about speeding up the booting up process by delaying programs was a good idea.

In my opinion Terri218 its one of the best for monitoring your system, letting you know of a new program is trying to place itself in the start menu, kill unwanted programs and show you just about anything you want to know about your system. In fact I purchase it sometime back.
To sum it up I love it for what it does!

Hi Terri,
Anvir Task Manager was one of the very first giveaways I ever purchased after using it for a few months. It combined several seperate programs that I used to use into one package; such as your task manager, Start up processes etc and a monitor for cpu usage, HDD (hard disc drive) usage as well as HDD temp monitoring, plus lots more. Not only that it gives a decent amount of information about most programs that run on your computer. I later upgraded to the Anvir Security package and have always been really happy with my purchase. Since buying the Security package 2 years ago I've never had to pay for an upgrade which is a different story for many other programs, which require cash for newer upgrades. This is a brilliant replacement for your task manager, get it while you have the chance; though it'll probably be offered again sometime this year, so if you did miss it get it next time......... :)

I like it but Firwall said it trying to get out and go to comodoca.com 5 times in one day, and a-squared not like said a Hosts engaged in the selling or distribution of bogus or fraudulent applications. This classification is assigned to sites being used for the distribution of rogue security.

While it's unfortunate that AnVir Task Manager includes other 'options' in its download, at least you can untick them before installing. That being said, if ever you want to download it (again), just check out Ashraf's site, as he has a link along with detailed instructions and information: http://dottech.org/freebies/dottech-exclusives/7292.
