We are always looking for new and innovative ways to help with our children’s education. One of the web sites we use to help the kids with their Math, English and Science is a BBC site that developed from a project called bitesized revision. They used to televise bitesize revison programs back in the 90’s when I still taught at secondary level (11 to 18 year olds). Now they have a really good web site where loads of those old ideas have come to fruition in a web based format.
One of the revision pages uses the developer of that free brilliant puzzle adventure game Samorost and the now released sequel Samorost 2 and more recently Machinarium. The revison pages are called KS2 bitesize and can be found HERE
The section you want to check out is under the games section and is called Questionautand includes questions about English, Math and Science that are appropriate to the age group I mention below. A direct link to the actual pages can be found HERE Amanita Design have created a brilliant educational experience incorportating Maths, English and Science questions into a puzzle game using the same art style that they have used in all of their previous games. The site is free access so if you have children at the key stage 2 level (aged 7 to 11)you should check the site out. I don't know what the equivalent level is called in the US or Australia/New Zealand, but I'm sure the education is basically the same. My kids were enthralled.
