Con:
In the few minutes I played it, the sounds - called music - killed my nerves.
The visuals are Win 98 (at best).
You can't resume an interrupted game.
Pro:
You can mute the sounds.
You can not only make your own layouts, but also design new tiles with a basic icon editor.
You can define the timer: not timed or 5 min...4min...3min... as you like it best.
Result:
I'll keep it, as I collect everything called Mahjongg.graylox

For me, there are no Pros, only Cons!
It doesn't like high DPI settings and even if you tell it to ignore that, it changes the size/shape of any window you have open at the time you play the game. That's a royal pain to reset windows every time you play or shut down EVERYTHING except this game.
I got no preview of the tilesets - just the names.
I got previews of the layouts but no idea how to get from there to the game.
It should have a "sequential" or "random" option to play the layouts rather than you select one each time.
I did post a review but, as expected, it has not been moderated yet.
I was one of the 70+% thumbs down.
It's just too old and primitive.
There are too many better Mahjongg games out there to fuss with this one -- collection or not.
I'll go back to Hotel Mahjongg Deluxe (free from several sites) that has good graphics and 5 variations of Mahjongg. It makes this game looks like it was made by dinosaurs!

Dragonlair I didn't notice the DPI problems here.
I too had to find out how to see the tiles and to choose the layout:
you have to double-click.Posted 11 years ago # -

It may be because my computer is refusing to run it and mine probably isn't the only one. I've known this to happen before (but not often because mostly the antivirus doesn't kick in for the giveaways) and I usually just turn off the firewall and run the installer since I trust this site. I'm going to add here though that I was lucky that the program that made so many problems in others computers didn't interest me.
The odd thing is that when I pull up my Comodo antivirus, it tells me that it has blocked this program, so I disable the antivirus. It puts up big red "AT RISK" signs, says its disabled, and when I try to install the game again, it blocks it, adds 1 to the count of items blocked and still whines at me that its disabled and can't protect me.
I think this means I'm not smart enough to install this program :(

Thanks all. I won't bother to download it.

A second try brought this game straight into the bin.
Though not all the horrible things the gamers are describing in their comments happened to me, I now noticed, that 2 tiles (at least) were dead.
This mistake is not a question of incompatibility, it's a flawed construction.
That's a no-go, even for me. A game may be ugly and old, but it has to play with me.graylox

I have to admit - reading all the comments (now that Stephen has gotten a chance to approve them) had me in stitches! I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. I'm sorry for all those who had their displays turned upside down but it is funny!
All the problems described from display problems (including those that affected other products) to errors in logic make you wonder -- who approved this game? Didn't it go through some test procedure before it was given to us?
I look forward to something BETTER tomorrow. Then again, even game genres I don't like are bound to be better than this game! (I know -- MY OPINION).
