Thanks Mikiem, have downloaded it, but won't install till tomorrow. Want to be fully awake, lol.
I'll be able to get rid of Star Menu X (hopefully). That said, it has been a god-send since installing win 8. It wasa gicveaway a few days after I installed it on this computer. I'd sort of got used to the new interface, but I'd placed shortcuts to places such as my account, my computer and the temp folders so that I could easily navigate the computer the way i've been used to for years. Installing Start menu X enabled me to boot directly to the desktop and have a Start Button. :) Thougy I prefer the win 7 start menu to Start Menu X.
