Hi everyone. I have a message for those of you who know Scubaguy. I spoke to him yesterday and he asked me to say hello to everyone for him. He also wants you to know that, in case you've emailed or messaged him and he hasn't replied, he is sorry but he just hasn't had the strength to even go online lately.

Here is the post where he first shared with us about his cancer:
Thought I would stop by and say hi

I was shocked at how weak he sounded and how discouraged he is, which is certainly understandable, but if you know Scuba you know that's not him at all. My heart breaks for him. Those of you who pray, please keep him in your prayers now more than ever. At times he's in unbearable pain, and even when it's bearable it's still tremendous. As you know, he was an active, athletic type of person so being confined to a bed most of the time has to be taking a tole on him mentally as well physically. Pray for his mom as well, she's in her 80's and is facing the loss of her only child.

OH BK.. thanks for the update. My heart and prayers go out to Scuba. It's terrible when an active person has to suddenly get stricken with this, and heartbreaking! Please let him know he IS still in my prayers (as well as his mom).
By the way.. that link to the post doesn't work.

Sorry about the non-working link, thanks for correcting it Paul.

Also.....the subject was SUPPOSED to be Scubaguy.....UGH! I hate it when I do that.

I will forward all messages to Scuba (Bob).

I will be sending him a pack of encouragement cards from some of my friends. If anyone would like to pm me a message for him I would be happy to print it and include it with the cards.

Thanks for the info Buckleysmom; please tell him from me, the regulars who know him, miss his wit and humor. Also tell him that i'll be thinking about him often and will be thinking positive vibes. There's been stranger cures. I truly hope he fights through this and that we see him in better health down the road.
I'm so sorry things aren't going well for you. I can understand a little of what your going through, but not fully.

What a sad message.
Reading through his profile I remembered some happy chitchat we had with scubbydoo here.
Hopefully he will be back soon.
I reinforce the positive vibes Stephen sent towards him.

I knew this day would come, but, along with many of you, I hoped it wouldn't be so soon. It is with great sadness that I must tell you I just received word that Bob aka-Scubaguy passed away on December 29. I was fearing that as I had not been able to reach him since 2 weeks before Christmas. He hoped he would make it through Christmas and the new year so that his mom wouldn't remember the holidays as a sad time. That was so like him, even in all his pain, to think of others more than himself.

I want to thank those of you who sent cards to me to forward on to him. In the note from his mom she said he asked her to hang all those cards on the wall where he could look at them every day. She also sent thanks to everyone for your love and prayers.

The world's loss.......Heaven's gain.

Although I never knew him that well as I came to these forums not too long ago, it is still sad to hear this news. My thoughts and prayers are with his family as they go through this difficult time.

I didn't know Scuba very well. He started his fight not long after I joined the forum so I never got the chance to know what kind of person he was. The fact that all the wonderful people here will miss him and cared for him so much let's me know what kind of a man Bob was. May his family find peace in his passing, knowing he is no longer in pain.

BK.. thanks for letting us know! Bob allowed us to go through his trying times with him through this forum. He's suffering no more and now he can rest in peace. Bless him and his family. He may be gone, but will not be forgotten.. he will live in our hearts.

I'm always very sad when anyone dies - I wish we could all live (happy and healthy) forever and ever, and never lose our loved ones. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

If no one objects I will print out this thread and send a copy to Bob's mom. I'm sure your kind and loving words and memories will be a comfort to her. If anyone objects please let me know.

By the way.....I don't believe that I mentioned this before and it's important you all understand.... I started this thread at Bob's request. He wanted me to let you know he was too ill to be in touch himself. He also asked me to let you know when his time came....he didn't want to leave everyone wondering. He spoke very fondly of everyone here and so enjoyed the times he spent here chatting and joking around. Those of you who know him I'm sure remember his great sense of humor. Even the last time I spoke to him he mentioned some of you by name and asked how you were doing. He loved this forum and the friends he made here.

Just thought you needed to know.

It is good to hear, that Scuby enjoyed our circle of friends and had fond memories of our little part of the WWW.

Thank you very much BK for your information and especially for all that great help you gave to scuby and his mother.

This is one post I really hate to post to.

I will miss Scuby so much. He was great fun. I remember trying to teach him HTML(How to make Lasagna) when the light bulb finally went on and he got it. He was so happy. And the many fights with butter knives with the Crazy Mango Princess. And the engagement(s) and tool shed lusting. I could just go on and on.....

Buddy, you will be missed but now you know no pain..which is a good thing.

PS I emailed MP to let her know.

Dear BK, of course I don't mind. ..... I'm still in shock at hearing the news. It's always horrible to hear of friends you know passing away. Especially so young. My heartfelt sympathies to Scuba's mom.

BK.. I'm sure his mom would appreciate reading all the things that went on with Scuby prior to his getting ill, and perhaps getting a laugh out of some of them. Also what he wrote after finding out he was ill, (the Old Codger thread), to see he was not alone in his sufferings. There was emphathy and caring. She should know that he was a good person and will be sorely missed by all of us that knew him through this forum!!

This is is a thread title I never wanted to see.
I first came across this site about 2 years ago, round about the time Delenn was trying to explain lasagna to Bob so I stayed and learnt a bit myself.
Don't know what else to say except that he will be missed by everybody who's life he brightened. Scubaguy, R.I.P.
