Soooooo! will this cost an arm and a leg or a small supplemet on top of Win 8, or, is it a free update?

Microsoft has said it will be a free update, available only through their app store. The public preview [beta] is supposed to be out late June, so pretty soon now. You will be able to update from the beta to the regular release version but you'll need to have everything installed, though if you skip the beta you can remove stuff from the win8 you have now & update to the new version this fall [I *think* I remember August being mentioned].

Thanks for the update Mikiem. i think they would have lost more customers if they had charged for it. I do hope its a simple process. I find it hard to concentrate these days. Thankfully Win 8 was the easiest install of an OS I've ever made, except maybe Win 3.1
