The article is mostly visuals but the concept looks nice. This is more an enhancement to Windows 8 rather than a replacement.

Thanks Mr Magoo, much appreciated.
When I lose Start Menu X (giveaway from a few weeks ago) which does a similar job, I'll have to check it out more throughly to see which one is better. :)

Looks nice and actually useful although I think the last line of the article sums up what most people miss in the new windows 8
"If only Start Menu Reviver could replace the Windows 7 Start Menu, too."You can actualy use this application together with Iobit StartMenu8, both starticons will overlap eachother (Iobit get's top) but are both clickable. If you deactivate the hotcorners in StartMenu8 options the bottom hotcorner doesn't get in the way. Maybe it sounds weird using both sartmenu's but if you have seen them both you might see why I think it can be useful for the time being, until one of the developers makes one that offers both in one app. I love the "old" windows startmenu and especially the all programs list which is way more easy to work then "scrolling trough the apps" or finding the right desktop icon (if you got 2 screens worth of desktopicons and thus have hidden them like me)
Startmenu X somehow always gave me a headache, don't know if it's just how I treat my system but it always has been buggy on my 7 system and I really didn't like the fold-out style (which I guess is it's main selling point for a lot of people)

Just a note that Start Menu Reviver DOES in fact work in Windows 7.
