Probably not if there is more than an .exe file in the folder. It is possible that if there are just a few files that get written after install (like high scores or user setup choices) that it might work. However, if that is all that is there, you really aren't saving much by not copying it all. Often there are art assets, sound files, .dll files (dynamic link libraries), etc. that are necessary as well as the .exe file.

If you want to save space you can try using some sort of on the fly file compression -- several USB sticks use this already, so it does work, though in their case it's not a good thing since they're doing it so they can mislead [lie] about specs. You *might* also find adding a virtual hard drive to a USB stick, then adding your games to that VHD makes better use of the stick's storage space -- lots of small files take up an inordinate amount of space on a USB stick, & some games have loads of small files. In that case the USB stick would actually store one large file so it *might* provide worthwhile savings, though this is just brainstorming as I've never tried it to see if it works.
