Hi,
On the GiveAwayOfTheDay home site I have no problems downloading as the link is right there.
But at game.giveawayoftheday.com I only see the recent days download and not the game for this day, I don't see any links to find or anything, please help me.

Kim, the game project used to be an everyday giveaway, but the game market is so tight, with so many competing sites giving away free (though sometimes with ride along adds) or discounted games that GGOTD simple could find enough developers to sustain a daily giveaway. So the project's now only on the weekends.
On the other hand, this forum contains some free game gurus - like our esteemed whiterabbit and his crack helpers, including our wizzardofoz - who post a free game they've found somewhere on the web EVERYDAY. In fact, they've been doing so for the last 61 weeks. (!) Plus, our loyal game freak members post any free or discounted games they can find on these pages, so our archives our filled with more games than you could possibly play.
A good place to start, besides the currently posted ones, would be with the sticky topic posted near the top: "Free Weekday Game Synopsis". That one was closed 10 months ago, but has links to probably a hundred games, almost all of which should still be good.

Hi knector;; yeah unfortunately the game giveaway only run at weekends at the moment. There were hopes that it would return to a daily giveaway, but as Watcher points out there are competing sites that are giving away free games every day. You can get a free commercial quality arcade game every day over at Gamehouse though the games are riddled with advertising. Alawar give away a full version arcade game once a month with no advertising though to get it you have to have the gamebox installed. You'll find the free game via one of the tabs within the gamebox manager. Gametop have a catalogue of nearly 100 decent arcade games, all for free. Though you have to watch when you install the games because most of the games do try to install toolbars and hijack your home page; but this is avoidable by unchecking the tick boxes during installation. When you close a gametop game down, your browser is openened to Gametops home page but it is quite safe. Just click on the X and its gone with no after effects.
As for our game synopsis which has been put together by G@rgoyle (who also maintains it behind the scenes), it now contains over ten times what Watcher suggested; yes over a thousand games are listed with links to the appropriate section in the games discussion forums where you'll find links to the appropriate download sites. Most of the games are either freeware or abandonware plus a few ad based games, but these are nothing like the ads you get in gamehouse games; the games are actually clear of adverts; you only find adverts in the menus. My latest posting of this type is an excellent Squad Based Shooter called Full Spectrun Warrior. There are some brilliant games listed, all for free.

There's more sites that give away free games such as FreeGamePick which is the same type of site as Gametop. Myplaycity also give games away, but most of their games (not all) do force you to install toolbars and have your home page changed. The games are disabled if you try to delete the toolbars or change the home page.
