Hi folks
I want to get the full version of Mahjong Artifacts and Mahjong Artifacts 2 but I'm not sure about buying from Alawar as their gamebox does not seem too reliable. Can I get these from another site other than Alawar? and if so where's the best place?

You don't need to use the Game box for your Alawar games. they are also free standing.

Just FWIW, won't buy anything from Gamehouse... my wife was a very loyal RealArcade subscriber for years [almost since the beginning], who stuck around when it turned into Gamehouse. That was until last year when their support went from abysmal to antagonistic. At that time it didn't matter if it was a problem with billing, with a game that needed re-downloading, with a game that wouldn't run, the attitude was we got your money so go s**** yourself.
Thanks for the suggestions folks, I tried amazon.com but it was for US only. Jenkatgames had some strange installer system that wanted to install quite a few 'extra' programs, you have to select 'custom install' to be able to decline these, but it still installed the 'ask' toolbar even though I had elected not to have it.
Gamehouse had problems understanding my order details, so in the end I bought them direct from alawar and installed without using the game manage/box.
Joy's a happy bunny now, she had lost the game when I upgraded from XP Pro to Win7. :-)

John, You must have selected a "yes" when you should have had a "no". JK has two different installers (depending on what games you have). I have 72 games from there and I have NEVER had any toolbar install.
Now Jenkat does have a screwy install setup that I have been trying to convince them to change but no other software and no browser opening at the end. The install gives no choices for the destination but puts part of the game in Program Files (x86)\<gamename> and the rest in Program Files (x86)\Common Files\<gamename> (if using 64 bit, ignore the " (x86)"). If they insist on Program Files, they should at least make a "Jenkat Games" folder there and put the games all together and as for the split into 2 parts -- I have NO idea what that is supposed to do.
I merge the two folders into one (Cut the "Common Files" folder OVER the "Program Files" folder) and then move it elsewhere. I then use CCleaner to easily find the uninstall registry entry and modify it to point to the new location and then create a new shortcut.
It's a headache but my Program Files (x86) is cleaner and less cluttered.
Hi Dragonlair, I've just tried downloading and installing Mahjong Artifacts 2 from Jenkat and this time all went as hoped. I did what you suggested and moved the files to a folder where I wanted and changed the registry entries, (one for the uninstaller and i for the icon.ico) and the game runs great on both mine and Joy's logins.
No 'extras' were installed with it this time.
