   Thanks txgoogoo, err...I mean orgoogoo. Good to have you back. There are lots of good free converters, but Handbrake is solid so I will check this out.

   Nothing for/against Handbrake, in my experience many Handbrake enthusiasts are enthusiasts because of its de-interlacing. That's not just for interlaced TV broadcast, as some people feel they get better HD out of their cameras if they shoot interlaced & use Handbrake to turn it into progressive frame video. At any rate, as most new camera's shoot HD nowadays, might be something to check out if you shoot video. If you don't work with interlaced video, it's *maybe* a bit slower without some of the latest optimizations or QT code. Either way it is clean, relying on the Handbrake cli rather than installing all sorts of BS like Format Fact.
