Is there software that can download a video from YouTube, and give me both the video file and an mp3 of it in one step, plus have a way to list the files I have already converted? Usually software makes you download the file for as many different formats as you need. Once to get the video then change your setting and download it a 2nd time as an mp3. I want to be able to keep the original video file as well as make the mp3 and I don't see why I should have to download for each step. No software seems to be able to track what files I have already downloaded. Thanks for your help!

I use Format Factory http://format-factory.en.softonic.com/. You just drag and drop your videos in and tell it what you want...It will do batches too. Then you have the video and the mp3.(Watch for the ebay shortcut during the installation..I think that is all "the extras".)
As far as cataloging, between All My Movies(Got from GOTD... may have to wait for this one) and this MediaMonkey » Information » Free - http://www.mediamonkey.com/information/free/ plus from Gizmo.. Best Free MP3 Tag Editor. I think you are set...Edit: Forgot about downloaders..I use a few because sometimes YT or other video sites can be difficult.
Media Monkey(above) will download too.

But I usually use Download Helper which is an addon with my browser Firefox. DownloadHelper - Media download Firefox extension
As always watch for toolbars and home page hijackers.

I might have All My Movies from a previous GAOTD.. but its probably on the old computer.
This seems to be the actual Format Factory site...
It does not say anything about being able to download YouTube videos in the description.
About a catalog... the traditional catalog software is not what I am looking for. I don't want something that is just going to say I have song "XYZ"... there could be many different versions of song XYZ. Is it a cover or the original artist? Is it a remix? Who uploaded it? If there are interesting comments, can I save them?
I have downloaded several converters... one of them did covert the video and audio like I mentioned but I can't figure out which one it was that did it. One of them quit working because it phoned home and updated itself :-(

Format Factory doesn't download. You might try the Freemake ones..which I posted about or Chris's. I have that one too..with the paid addon.
Media Monkey, maybe, is what you are looking for...
