   I took a quick search to see if this topic had already been addressed, but I did not see it, so here we go...

   Using IE7 on fully patched XP, if I go to the forums (when not logged in), I cannot place my cursor in the search field (top right of each forum page) to type a search. I can click the search button and then type in the "search term" field, but the search field at the top right always seems to be inactive.

   The upper right search box DOES SEEM TO WORK WHEN I AM LOGGED IN to the forums, however.

   Yes, I noticed this too. Maybe GOTD purposely programs the site this way to prevent non-registered folks from gaining access to forum topics??? Just some food for thought.

   It works just fine in FF 3.5.3 and IE8 if you are not logged in. I bet it is just a compatibility issue with IE7.

   Happy Person, yeah, I thought about the fact they might be trying to prevent non-registered or bots from searching the site, but the fact that you can click the button and search the site from the search page made me abandon this idea.

   works ok for me,I can use Google not log in with Firefox.
