Do these free downloads last forever on your computer or is there a limit of say a year???
I've heard people say that is the case.
I realize that if your computer crashes that is a different story.
Question--FREE?

No they are completely free after they are totally activated and installed. There are no time limits.

Considering the site hasn't been active for a year yet, and that no software company has expressly stated this is the case, and especially considering that Advanced Windows Care Pro didn't last 3 days---I think it's clear BillW has no idea.

hmm, i just fired up my install of Advanced Windows Care Pro and it is working just fine...
now i want to make sure that you understand that i am not saying that you dont know what you are saying macjr, i am just saying that mine still works

MacJr - Advanced Windows Care Pro is a subscription based service (server side checking). Most programs are installed and they will work for life as long as you don't reformat your computer (program and registration data stay intact).
BillW50 has been here quite a while and he does know what he's talking about especially after helping a good number of people here on the forums (and successfully too mind you).

MacJR - I see from looking at your profile you have been a member for 4 days and the above was your first post. Hooray for first impressions. In future - helping people, and solving problems is the order of the day. If you want to criticise or bash something - make it software and not other people.
rabosr - I believe tjchan's comments are correct.
Unless the program is specifically written to time out there is no reason why a program would stop working on a given date. One limitation is a giveaway program might return to an evaluation (time limited) version if you update to a newer version. This has happened several times to various people who did not realise that this would be the outcome.
The no upgrade limitation is possibly the biggest incentive to purchase a license - over time the program will (hopefully) continue to upgraded and improved. New features will be added and you will not be able to benefit from these. If you like the software and continue to use it over an extended period of time - perhaps you will decide to purchase a license and obtain the benefits of being a fully licensed user.
While the GOTD "license" removes the shareware limitations - it is a license "frozen in time" with no upgrades or support. In a years time if you are still using (and loving) the software, perhaps using the GOTD version will be less attractive than purchasing a license from the developer.

Well my "Advanced Windows Care Pro" is still working just wonderful MacJr! First I followed the directions. How people ended up with trial versions is when they upgraded (which is against the rules) or uninstalled the Personal edition. I did neither. Thus I have more than an idea. Don't you think MacJr?

Hello Bill50,
Do not let rash remarks get you down, I think it is great that you volunteer your time and knowledge here, much appreciated and "THANK YOU" very much. I have read lots of your posts and they are right on!

GAotD tells us:
"The software product will be presented in its full functionality, without any limitations save for those mentioned in Terms and Conditions."
There is no time limit after being installed.

Well just to add my .2cent, I am very new here, and thus far BillW has been very accurate, hmm so has Barry, and for this i am totally grateful, or I'd be totally lost!

some more cents ... mine is working just fine too. I do however have one of PC, where it is not fully licened under all users (to get this right: I have 2 users there fully licensed, but not user # 3 or 4). On user account #4 it still scans and cleans when you run it and paste in the serial you received that day, so Mac Jr could give that a try.
I do have one doubt though. The database version is becoming kind of old (Feb.21). I was kind of reluctant to run the: "Update Now" button because I wasn't sure if it will null the license. Anybody tried that yet?And Bill, thanks for the great reply, I'm definitely going to sit down this weekend and work on that Aston issue. The problem with the disappearing wallpaper might as well be related to the Altdesk or the combined use of both.

You are welcome AlexSJ. No I don't know if the update now will null the license or not. I should try it eh?

Good morning "Bill50" Et.Al.
I updated & used the "Advance Windows Care" yesterday, followed by the "Pro" verison. The "Pro" version found _7_ issues that the other didnot. The "Pro" version also appeared to run faster; but, that could be because of the prior cleaning.
-- B.T.W. -- Where is the "Game of the Day" today ?? Thanks 8-)Posted 17 years ago # -
Good afternoon lwbjag! Oh good deal. "Game of the day"? See it now? :)
Posted 17 years ago # -
Good afternoon to you sir "BillW50". The game finally appeared on the site more than 4 hours after the usual timeframe. I found it odd because there were already "comments" since I hadnot access until after 7AM-EDT.

Good afternoon to you to sir/ma'am (lwbjag)! The game was good at 2 hours after the change overwards, but afterwards I can't say.

I repeatedly tried since the "usual" 3am launch. (10 - 20 minutes) The other site began between 3 & 3:30am EDT. (BTW - I'm just an old man)

Okay sir lwbjag! :) I am just a bit past middle aged here. :)
