   Fileplanets direct to Drive have got several games on special offer due to it’s fifth anniversary. You can get all the following games for £5 ($7.50) each. Most in my opinion are brilliant bargains especially the first three. I wrote a lot more detail initially, but forgot to add a title when i posted it, so you can guess what happened - yeah I lost everything, so it's a bare bones post with just a video for each game and some images. no written details of each game. sorry. You should be able to get demos for all of the games from Gamershell. They hold a massive list of demos of virtually all games that have been released over the past several years. The X-COM bundle, which includes three games is the oldest set of games. Warhammer Dawn of War includes the expansion packs. I decided to use smaller than normal images because of the number I've posted.

   I'm not sure whether you need to subscribe to be able to use the Direct to Drive facility. I have a paid for subscription so am always logged on when I purchase games via Direct to Drive. There is a free subscription, but the downloads tend to be a lot slower than a paid subscription, which is the norm for most download sites. Some of fileplanets games automatically install to the Steam client.

   It is always worth checking out Direct to Drive on a weekly basis because they have deals similar to Steam every week.

   Fileplanets direct to drive anniversary is now into its second weeks and they have even more brilliant titles. The following titles are all £5 each (last week I thought the US price would be equivalent at $7.50, but someone said they were only $5, which is an even better bargain.

   The first week was strategy games, this week it’s action games, next week it’s RPG/MMo games then week 4 will be Indie Games and Week 5 is EA games. I’ve left a small comment next to the ones I already own. Here’s the new list;

   • Saints Row 2 - Excellent GTA IV copycat game with some differences. Well worth having even if you have GTA IV

   • Bioshock – Brilliant

   • Sid Meiers Pirates – for £5 it’s worth it. A fun title with cartoonish graphics

   • Stalker shadow of Chernobyl – Excellent post apocalyptic FPS game

   • Frontlines: Fuel of War – another excellent near futuristic FPS game with lots of modern weapons

   • Tomb Raider Legend – superb

   • Juiced 2:Hot Import Nights

   • Thief: Deadly shadows - I’m looking forwards to Thief V. got this one on the recommendations of a fellow giveaway member

   • Max Payne 2

   • Manhunt

   I just wish I’d waited to buy some of the above titles. I never imagined the likes of Bioshock, Saints row, Frontlines: Fuel of War and Stalker would be so cheap only a couple of years after their release.

   I may post some images of each game later. I haven't the time at the moment. :)

   lol only just noticed you've already posted these bargains Wizz. Just shows how my opiates dull my brain, lol.

   I also had never noticed the UK/US region button to the top right of th page. Well I probably had, but never realized it would allow me to purchase games at a cheaper rate, which is what i managed to do today after buying a couple of the deals that i didn't have previously. Though the riddick title wasn't allowed. Thanks for pointing that out to me wizz. i'll always check each section from now as there are some different games available. in fact there are twice as many games avalable using the US region. :)

    The latest Direct 2 drive deals all pretty much awesome. (and again I have most of the best so can attest to their uniqueness and or game play. All can be bought for either $5 or £5, depending upon which side of the pond you live on. UK residents can buy some of the $5 one so long as you click on the small button located to the top right of the page. Some games are repeated on both pages, so get the US ones as you’ll save nearly 40%.

    Sweet, I've been wanting Mirros Edge for a while now.
    I wouldn't mind trying out Battleforge and both Red Alert's.

    I found out about Red Alert when they had that give away for them you could choose either faction. I still have both.
    When 7 comes out, I'm fortunate enough to get a signature series of Windows 7 Ultimate for free on the 22nd. 7 is suppose to run a true XP virtual drive or emulator or something like that, wonder if it will play Redalert 2.

    Back to the subject, simcity, Battlestations Pacific, Company of Heroes Gold, Supreme Commander Gold.

    Dam, I'm gonna have to borrow some cash especially if the US has more and they are just as good. Didn't congress vote to give us disability people a raise.Oh wait that was just them

    This is a good one, was the mmorg one any good.

    Yeah the same will go for those living in the UK. That is some titles available in the US will not be available to Europeans. I'm waiting for the US one to open as I intend getting the Red Alert games and Supreme Commander. It's worth paying $ rather than £ as I save about 30%. I was never happy buying them at full price, but for $5, well, it's almost like giving them away. I'll also be buying Battlestations Pacific as well; (which I meant to buy when it was released, but totally forgot about it, so am really pleased to finally get some bargains as I'd already bought most of what they have been selling). The rest I already have (apart from Battleforge which I don't fancy)

    Mirrors edge is one of those games that I actually finished the whole way through (It's very rare for me to do that because of the number of games I buy each week). It was a very enjoyable game to play. differen to your normal game. There's a free ware 2D version of Mirrors Edge in the games discussion forums. you can find it via the synopsis.

    I'm so ticked off, the u.s. side didnt have Mirrors edge. I guess it doesnt sell in the uk and sell here. That probably how they determine the games to sell for 5 bucks.

    We didnt have Battle forge either.these two were it Battlestations Pacific,Company of Heroes Gold

    I bought the battle stations, did you get it to , rabbit.

    I almost got company of heroes, but went with Chronicles of Riddick. It was like 39.95 regular.Thought I would get the best bang for the buck, buck heck for 5 dollar, you really cant go wrong with any of them.

    well, after staring at these games for a long time, I finally decided to get some of them.
    Sid Meier's Railroads....due to the fact that I had played his Railroad Tycoon which was very fun, this game was the first on my list.
    Civilization. I didn't need to see the video to know it had awesome graphics and gameplay...
    Finally (this one took the most thought), Supreme Commander Gold, due to the fact that it *does* include the expansion....oh and an awesome video.

    I bought quite a few from the whole five weeks. In fact virtually all the games I didn't already have apart from Max Payne 2 (I have the first and never really got into it) and Manhunt.

    This week I bought Supreme Commander Gold, both the Command & Conquer Red Alert games, Battlestations Pacific, Simcity Societies, Just Cause and Elven Legacy

    I wanted Codename Panzer, Chronicles of Riddick and World in Conflict Gold (I have the first part of World in Conflict), but only wanted it for the Russian campaign, which I never bothered buying when it was first released; unfortunately they were not available in the UK. It's a pity the whole thing wasn't opened up to the world. I'd certainly have bought several more, lol.

    I've not had time to install most of the games I've bought via this deal yet as I've been enthralled by a game called Red Faction Guerilla for the past two weeks. In fact the only ones I've atually installed as yet are Sid ier's Railroads, Just Cause and SimCity.

    Yeah, the Supreme Commander video; that's what swung it for me, lol. To be honest, I'd gone off playing such games several years ago after purchasing the first Tiberium Sun, now the graphics are amazing and I decided to start playing them again, though I still prefer FPS to RTS. I doubt I'd have purchased them for full price or even half price. But $5 and £5 were too much of a bargain to ignore, lol.
