I’m not sure if wizzard wanted me to post Wednesday’s games as well, but just in case I thought I'd better. I hope your dental appointment went okay, and I hope you don’t mind? You can always take a few of my days next week I you want. I wasn’t sure about posting most of the games below; it was already nearly 3am and I needed some sleep. Three of the five games are windows only games, but I was so impressed with the graphics and game play of each game, I decided to throw caution to the wind and post them (lol). The first games graphics are unusual for a reels game, not brilliant by any means, and IMO a bit cluttered, but as it's the first reels game to be posted in this project (I think), I thought “why not”, the game play is okay, , which is what matters anyway.. I couldn’t see if there was a hold function, which would make the game much better (imo). Check it out and tell me what you think? :) The windowed games have gorgeous graphics.

My Reels: (20.8Mb)
This is a 3 payline Slot Machine styled game featuring an extensive range of quotes with pictures and sounds. The machine is a five-reel slot that uses photographs saved as .bmp files for game symbols. From the configuration menu, you can change the graphics of the symbols, and select different sound effects, background MIDI files, and substitution symbols that offer additional payoffs, starting bank amount, and lots more variations.

Attack of the Mutant Camels: Yak Attack (1.3Mb)
I was attracted to this game simply by the name, so when I downloaded it I wasn’t actually expecting much because of the size; however I was very impressed by the overall feel of the game. It’s your basic shooter, but with an odd theme and gorgeous graphics (for it’s size). Don’t expect ground breaking graphics, but they are cool. This is my favourite game of today’s selection. The controls remind me vaguely of Gravitron in that if you don’t use the up key your yak will fall to earth.

Exolon DX (13.4Mb)
This is another well made (for freeware) and colourful side scrolling shooter. Though it can only be played in a window. No full screen unfortunately (though I’ve not opened up the executable to see if it’s possible). There’s a patch available from the same page as the download page I’ve linked to below. It has to be placed in the exolon sub folder and overwrites the original. The basic game only gives you one life whereas the patch increases this to nine lives, which you’ll probably need as you figure out what to do. Make sure you duck at the beginning otherwise the cannon will knock you out almost immediately, lol.
Exolon, is a remake of the Cecco classic.
With your great reputation as an eraser of aliens, you're employed to rid a planet of a mixed bag of beasties. You face a world infested with rotund attackers released from birth pods, homing missiles, accelerating space lice, exploding mines, and bum-pummelling hydraulic plungers.
For protection, you carry a blaster to destroy the lesser, thin-skinned aliens and laser-beam barriers; grenades that take out stronger creatures, machinery, obstructing rock formations and mushrooms; and a pulse bomb that disrupts enemy security systems. Blaster ammunition and grenades are replenished with each loss of life, and extra supplies may be collected from arsenal boxes.
For additional safety, passing through a dressing unit clothes you in an exoskeleton, and thus be-suited you have extra blast power and protection against ground mines and some aliens.

Head over Heels: (14Mb + 1Mb for documentation)
This version of Head Over Heels is a pretty darn faithful remake of the Speccy original except with a few spanking extra bits grafted on like a save system and subliminal flashes of erotic art (if I have my way!). I should perhaps tell you a bit about the team who's making the game. I'm the one responsible for the graphics (apart from the lovely logo which you see adorning this site) and I'm Graham Goring.
The programming is by the very talented Tomaz Kac (who only wrote this game because of a hastily scrawled diagram posted on the Retrospec mailing list about how you can't properly sort isometric games without complex masking), the excellent music is by Dorian Black.
This is another windows only game. You can download PC, Mac, Linux and BEOS versions with a separate download for documentation. All can be found via the following link:

Aaawww, just one more:
Wizball: (24.6Mb)
This is another windowed game and is a remake of the C64 version of the game. There's a one or two player option. I couldn’t resist adding just one more game. :)
