Orchestra was last being offered for a knock down price I hesitated becasue it's quite an old game, but after the offer was over and I'd spent time checking out numerous videos of game play I regretted it immensly. Well the offer came up again to coincide with the release of a really cool mod called The Darkest Hour. So after a few more doubts were laid aside I decided to buy the game. It cost me just under 3 pounds which is less than $5. With it you get the original game plus the Darkest Hour and Mare Nostrum (which covers the North African campaign - Mare Nostrum = Mediterrainean Sea) plus servers to host any of the three games yourself.
I was wondering if any giveawayoftehday steam members or those thinking of joining the group were considering buying the package? It really is a steal at the price; though the offer ends at the end of tomorrow evening (though steam seem to keep their offers open till the following morning, so if you are reading this on the 16th, it may not be too late).
It would be one more gam,e that we could add to the games that we could play together on a weekend.
I'm hoping that there will be other giveawayoftheday steam group members that buy this game a swe can set up

Red Orchestra is a team based online first person shooter on the lines of Battlefield 2, though with Red Orchestra you get a more realistic and technical style of game play. This isn’t a run and gun game, but one where you need to think, plan your moves and play tactically. There’s a plethora of different maps covering campaigns from the whole of the second world war between the European and Axis forces.
The graphics aren’t as good as the soon to be released (on Steam that is), America’s Army 3, which is a modern day first person shooter. The main difference between the two games is that Red Orchestra costs around $5 as opposed to America’s Army, which is totally free. I’m not 100% sure yet whether we can set up a private server with America’s Army, but you can with Red Orchestra, so it would be a great game for those of you who are a little reticent at playing online games as I would be setting up servers that are password protected to ensure that we aren’t swamped by players that have been playing the game for a long time.
I remember when we set up a small clan to play America’s Army several years ago, we allowed a very experienced player to join our ranks, who basically was unstoppable. No one in the clan could kill him, yet he seemed to be able to kill anyone of us with impunity. After several games with him, we all felt put off simply because no one likes to play a game and get killed every time they played. Of course, everything takes practice, and I’m sure if we’d stuck at it we would have been able to get him eventually; but it was a time of flux and we all actually stopped playing regularly after the experience (went on to play Battlefield 2). I avoided getting into Red Orchestra at the time because I much preferred playing single player games or games where I knew the people I was playing with (as I did with America’s Army)
