I decided to add a game for Left for Dead as well as HL2 - Deathmatch. L4D will run on Sunday evening (GMT), but as most of you either have to work or go to university, college or school, I won't be running it late. It'll start at 9.30pm on Sunday 17th to 2am Monday 18th (GMT)

Games GuruI used a dedicated server for this game yet no one was able to join. I made sure it was set to internet (as opposed to LAN) yet goodgiveaway said it was showing as a local. The only explanation I can think of is that my provider was blocking it. I turned off my firewall and got the same result.
Does anyone have an expalnation for this as I didn't want to let the community down after promising to run a server. Saturdays was also a disaster for the same reasons. Hopefully the lack of a game this weekend won't affect servers in the futur.
What exactly did you do to set up the Halflife 2 - Deathmatch server last week Wizzard?

G@rgoyle may have come up with the answer. I run my internet connection through a router. It may very well have been the root cause of both days lack of a server from me despit me thinking I'd done it correctly. I hope it was. Maybe someone would help me test it out sometime this week before I go on vacation on Friday morning. thanks in advance.

darn it just missed it,5am central time when i read this. Oh well maybe next round.
I intentionally bought left4dead as a gift for a friend hoping to get him out of wow for a bit. He like doom3d, so I thought it was worth a try.
Me though, he keeps trying to get me to commit some more time to wow, but I am off to other games. Wished I'd seen this posting earlier.
