   Okay, the server has been set to run from this coming Saturday 16th May 8pm GMT. I've set it to random maps with a change every 40 minutes. there's a frag limit set to 50 and I'll keep the server open until the following morning; or maybe until late Sunday evening. Your right it was really easy to set up.

   The event is called:

   Giveaway Social Club - Half Life 2 Deathmatch or

   The server is called:

   Whiterabbit's Giveaway server (I think I may have set two, lol)

   the server address:

   127.0.0.1:27015

   and the password:

   Cholon

   I hope we see lots of community members there.

   Please do comment to let me know how many are likely to be joining the server. I won't be able to join until after 9.30pm, but should then be in until my hands get too painful. I played two sessions last weekend from 10pm to 11.30 and then again around 4am for another hour. To anyone that hasn't played yet, or more importantly never payed online. It really is great fun. I personally avoided going online after a few bad experiences playing on public servers. This server will be password protected to keep out those that cheat or mess around.

   I hope to see you all on Saturday or possibly Sunday if I keep the server open. I'm likely to be playing between 5 to 7pm and 10 to 12pm on Sunday. (all GMT) :)

   I'll post this over in the appropriate thread. I only realized I'd posted it in the wrong thread after I'd posted it, lol

   rabbit, do remember that when setting up the server to run, there is an option for player password and that is the one that will grant access to the game.

   I hope that this is something that catches on and continues. My laptop (with the bad motherboard) has been inspected/approved so now I am waiting for whether they plan to replace the entire computer or refund the money. So, in other words I am still on this painfully slow computer that keeps me from loading up and joining in. As soon as it is possible though I will try to jump into one of these that is open! Whoevers idea this was it is wonderful! A place to play this without being smashed by hackers and cheats. I think I had the same experience as you did WhiteRabbit.

   Hi ibwebb,
   It was Wizzards idea to set up the Giveaway multiplayer 'gaming club'. I echoe your sentiments. Thanks wizzard, you definitely broke the spell that's stopped me from going online for so long. :)
