   Yeah, it's available again for free play; though you do have to create a Steam account and download the free client. Well worth it in my opinion as UT3 is a brilliant game. IF you've got the time to play it all weekend I'd recommennd downloading some of the better mods from fileplnet or filefront. You can usually find a list of the more popular mods at both these sites.

   For example The Titan Pack Expansion , Angels Fall First: Planetstorm, and the haunted Mod. I'd recommend fileplanet, but it's easier to download from filefront unless you have a subscription at fileplanet (it's not needed, but you usually have to wait in line sometimes for up to 20 or more minutes during peak times, and then you can only download one file at a time and at the slowest speed. I download masses from fileplanet, so get a years or two years sunscription usually, which enables me to download up to 10 files at a time using the fastest servers, plus I can que more if I wish. I've used that facility often when I'm downloading mods and maps for a newly bought game.

   The UT series is one of the absolute few, count them on one hand, multi-player games that I will play. I've always been a fan of their games and rather enjoy playing online. UT3 also has a single player campaign that you can play, but I'm not sure if Steam is offering the single player aspect of the game for free or if it's just multi-player. Either way, it's a good deal if you've never played the game and are curious. Be warned however, due to the popularity of the game, it may take you awhile to download from their server.

   Good point Wizzard. I've already got UT3 so haven't actually bothered to download it; though I would assume the full game is available. I think it must be part of the promo which includes the massive one million dollar competition to build the best UT3 mod around. I've always thought that UT3 never took of like UT2004 did. That had a massive following with hundreds of mods and even more maps. UT3 is small by comparison, though I appreciate it's only been released since Nov 2007.

   At the very least the demo is well worth downloading. Unreal Tournament 3: Black is being offered for a very low price on Steam at the mpment. in the UK it's less than £10 which equates to less thn $14 for it over in the US. That's cheap for such a well supported game, that's still growing.

   The Unreal anthology is another good bargain. It includes their last game Unreal 2004 which as I said above includes an unbeleivable number of mods and maps (nearly as many as my favorite old game Battlefield 2 {which I'm just about to jump into the EOD mod and then some AI-X, lol} plus Unreal 2 (misses out Unreal Tournament 2003, which is basically the dsame as UT2004) Unreal tournament the first of the tournament series plus the ne that started it all Unreal. I paid £7.50 for my copy because I bought it as a bundle 2 for £15 from Game UK. I think it still retails singly as £9.99 which is less than $14. Amazing bargain.

   p.s.

   I already had Unreal, and Unreal 2004 when I bought the anthology. IT was still worth it just for the first two in the tournament series. Besides I bought it so that I could play online with my son. Though we do play on a LAN without any of the discs using a NoDVD patch, which saves the discs from damage and makes it easier to boot up the games. I'm considering buying another copy of Unreal tournament 3 now that it's so cheap so that we can play online together.

   I received my anthology for free by pre-ordering UT3. It's a shame that UT3 hasn't gotten as strong a following as 2004. I think it is every bit as good as 2004 is, but I think people were looking for bigger changes, something new and refreshing. UT3 is my favorite so far though.

   Yes I agree. Apart from the fantastic graphics the games are almost the same. Still, I think maybe as time goes on and with the developer as always supporting their games well, it may just be as big as UT2004 a couple of years down the line; especially with all these promotions they seem to be doing.

   I paid full 'day of release price' with no extra's for mine as I pre-ordered it a year before it was released. Though I’m trying to stop myself from pre-ordering games now as they always come down in price fairly quickly these days;(well nearly always as COD4 took over a year to come down in price as did Cysis) For example, I bought the Limited Edition release of Silent Hunter 4 which cost me around £50 (at the time it was around $85). You can pick up the basic game for £4.99 (if you search around) now only 2 years after its release. What was supposed to be a limited edition is still available (I think) which included a tin box that is made to look like the skin of a submarine (not a steel book type box, but a lunch box type box). Inside the tin was a copy of the game, the sound track, a Documentary about WWII submarines plus some other goodies such as a mouse mat, arm patch, pen, note book for taking coordinates etc and a deluxe recognition booklet (which contained all the outlines of ships the tonnage and other information of which type of ships you'd encounter in your travels as a submarine commander, oh yes and a medal. That's another game that didn't follow in its predecessors footsteps. Partly for the same reason, though it did give a totally different scenario (Pacific theatre instead of Atlantic theatre, so you were fighting Japanese rather than Germans). The graphics had been enhanced significantly, but again the game play was remarkably similar. I've only played the game once since I bought it and not even installed the expansion that was released last year. (I blame spending so much time in these forums and writing my game reviews, lol). Someone has added a massive mod that adds on the Atlantic campaign, so if you want to sink U boats again instead of Japanese subs you can. I think I’m going to reinstall the game now. I want to check out the expansion ‘finally’. lol
