After installed AWC Pro, when launching it, it gives errors and stops!
AWC Pro v. 2.30, downloaded from Iobit Server, is good but does not accept activation of "Give Away Of The Day".
Witch the solution ?

I tried once normally and again after clearing the history, temp files and generally all registry edits. Same here. The activation is not accepted and received an "encountered and need to close down" dialogue. So far no Giveawayof the Day activation failed except this one.
Maybe this would be resolved. I look forward to postings on this.
Well brickneil, my advice to you is to install the version given to you by GOATD.
Run activation, allow your firewall to allow in and out communication with the GOATD server.
If you do this it will say activation succesful.
The file given here, I think it a special one, it's a different build than the one at the website, it's build is newer.
After speaking via the net to a friend that has this registered, she told me, that the serial and username is far longer than hers.
Thus pointing out this is a special edition.
After rebooting, run activate again.
I received a successful activation but it turns out to be a free trial and will not fix any errors it finds. They want you to pay to continue. Is there supposed to be an activation code for us to use???
There is an activation exe file to run.
When activated, username is of course 'giveawayoftheday' without quotes and a serial.
The build needed for registration is: v2.4.0.795
Lee, I used the activation.exe and all it gave me was "successful activation" no user name required and no serial number received! The build agrees with your figures.
Lee, Okay, I now have it. Thank you for your help.
I have the same problem, it keeps asking me for a user name and serial to fix the problem.
I run activation exe a few times, restated etc.
It's alright, I too had the same problems as you.
malawibob, how did you do it?
gabriele, uninstall the program then navigate into you registry and remove keys HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software IObit.
Then navigate to program files folder and delete IOBit folder.
Clean out temp folder.
Reboot, then reinstall advanced windowscare pro setup file found in rar/zip your downloaded.
When installation is done, close the program from your system tray/ notification area.
Run the activate file.
Making sure of course it can connect to server.
Open advanced windowscare pro and it should be registered. Right click program icon in system tray/ notificaiton area, click on open program, then options then about, it will have whats below.
Well Lee,
I know that v. 2.40 is a special build non present on official Iobit Server, but activation is successful, otherwise, launching the program, it shows "AWS has given errors and will be closed", witch could let think of an incompatibility with XP MC SP2 system ("AWC personal" works quite well).
I have tried to uninstall the personal edition and to reactivate AWC Pro after a reset of system, but nothing: what a pity, for it seems to be a great software !
Maybe this is why! System Requirements: Windows 2000/XP/Vista
thank you Lee for all the help, but no luck. I guess i leave it for now.
Hi Lee, i follow your steps which u gave gabriele but still having error running activate.exe. Error: "Activation module failed to connect to giveawayoftheday.com. Software activation is not possible at the moment. Pls try again later or check your firewall settings". i have disabled my firewall & symantec antivirus to no avail. So where can i get the registration code???
I tried Lee's fix to no avail. It registered on one of my computers the first time I tried. The other computer will not register (both Win XP Media Center). It is on a wireless connection and is connected but the activation seems a bit too quick to be really working. I'm at a loss now after 5 tries, deleting any iobit or advancedwindowscare in the registry and hard drive. Even disabled internet security and antivirus. These are the same on both machines. Maybe you can put it on again when the activation/registration problem is resolved. I've used the personal version and it is great.
Hey Lee, I was getting the same error, and I didn't actually have to uninstall it and re-install, hack the registry and blah, blah, blah. All I did was right-click and exit the program in the system tray, ran the activation and opened the program - working fine now - username is giveawayoftheday!!!
Thanks for the info.
