For those who where wondering if they could move those software (given by GotD) on a new computer, the answer is YES. You must do 2 things tho... the 1st one is to write down the registration key given by GotD when you registered your software (within the limitation time) and the 2nd one is to search for a demo version of the same exact software that you are looking for. When this is all done, you are on your way to have fun with your new software on your brand new computer!
Can I move those software on a new computer?

Then when you register it do you use "giveawayoftheday" or your own name?

However, installing the software on a new computer is against the conditions. I'd be somewhat sympathetic to someone doing that in cases where the software is nice but not great (and that you wouldn't buy anyway), but you should at least pay for the software you really like. I've bought two programs from GotD so far (and when I switch computer the next time I know a third one to buy).

There are 3 conditions stated in the "Terms and Conditions"
1) No free technical support
2) No free upgrades to future versions
3) Strictly non-commercial usageNow all of these are IMO quite understandable and reasonable.
1. No free technical support. Developers don't necessarily want to feel obligated to provide support to people who are not financial customers. Their time is probably better spent in other areas. Some do provide support as it fosters good will and favorable word of mouth reviews, which may result in benefits like increased sales and users singing their praises.
I have been in touch with some giveaway developers making suggestions on how I feel a product could be improved, or reporting bugs and assistance in documenting how to replicate them, and subsequently testing the bugfixes. Working with the developers to make the product better, or providing useful feedback, and establishing a relationship. Giving something back, has on more than one occasion resulted in being offered one or more full licenses as a way of saying thank you. I tend to recommend these companies and products to clients and friends where I feel they may have a use for them.
My point here is - don't expect free support - the conditions don't say you won't get support - but that support will only be provided at the discretion of the software developer/company.
2. No free upgrades to future versions. The codes and registrations that are given away may not work with future releases other than the version downloaded from GOTD during the giveaway period. Sometimes even on the same day the giveaway version might be different or older than the version on the website. Just remember to install the version downloaded from Giveaway of the Day and not the developers/vendors website.
Because the code might not work with future releases, software developers can protect their investment in their programs. Should a user want to continue to use the program permanently, and get the benefits of any new features, fixes or improvements released in the future - a purchase would allow this. Over time as the giveaway version gets more dated, and new features become more attractive - users who continue to use the product will want to upgrade.
3. Strictly non-commercial usage. Pure and simple - if you are using the software for commercial purposes (to make money etc) then the developers have every right to expect payment for their contribution to your income making ventures also.
Nowhere do the Terms and Conditions say - you cannot install on all five of your home computers, or if you need to format and re-setup a PC that you cannot replace the software you legally installed a week earlier.
There is also no stated end period to your permitted usage of the product. You can continue to play a game you download from here for the next 5 years if you really want - BUT - (at the discretion of the software developer) The version of the software you can use will be frozen in time. There will be no guarantee of updates or support.
If you want to reinstall an old download (that was activated during the giveaway period) on your new computer - there isn't really much anyone can do to stop you (assuming you have the knowledge to do the reinstall in the first place). Sure the developers could go out of their way to stop people installing old versions of their software - but really their energy is probably better spent elsewhere.
Remember users who love software that works well, and find software companies that are great to deal with - become the best customers, and the best sales people to their families and friends.

If my interpretation of the GOTD Terms and Conditions is incorrect, I would welcome a moderator or admin from GOTD to explain what is and is not permitted. To date there have been several people who have asked "can I reinstall an old giveaway" on a new or rebuilt computer at a later date - and there has been no official comment. Sure you cannot obtain a registration code or activation code after the giveaway date - but reinstalling (the original giveaway version) from a backup or similar process really should be permitted under the guise of fair use.
Perhaps the official rules need to be explained in a FAQ in more detail so this question can stop being asked... over and over and over again. I have felt until now that lots of people wanted to ask the question but are skirting around and avoiding it, so as to not "offend" anyone or "tip the applecart" and ruin what a great opportunity everyone has with GOTD.

Actually, I don't think it is against the conditions.
