Only available for now with copies of Win11 enrolled in the Insider program, Paint is getting generative erase, same as what's in Photos, but IMHO a bit more confusing & harder to use. TO use it you click the Erase tool, then on the left side of the program window, under the slider that you use to control the brush size, there's a generative erase button. Click that and you can paint over anything you want to disappear -- click apply on the menu bar at the top of the window and whatever you painted over goes away. As with the Photos app, generative erase doesn't *seem* to use any credits.
The new AI in Notepad allows you to use AI to rewrite whatever text you've got in that text doc. Using it once uses up one credit out of the 50 you're given once a month -- unused I only saw 49 credits however. To get more you've basically got to pay for Copilot Pro. Unlike AI services where using all your credits might cause a slowdown when using AI, it *seems* when you're out you're done.
