Macrium Reflect used to be the best, or one of the best disk / partition image backup apps available, especially as they offered a free version. It was very useful for people like me with more than one device to backup, since I could use the free version on all but one device where I paid to get access to all of the features [and support the dev]. There's simply no way I could afford to pay for a copy on every device. Then last year they ended the free version, though all the copies I have continue to work. Now with the new version X, along with a subscription only model they've introduced a new format for their backup archives, *possibly* to break ties with the free copies of version 8 still in use. I suggest that if you also use Macrium Reflect 8 [or older], that you prepare to switch to something else, like I have. Version 8 could well continue working for the next 5 years, or maybe even longer, but the dev's intentions are not clear... It's probably a good bet for example that when/if Microsoft fully switches Windows to their hardened boot loader, version 8's bootable USB sticks will no longer work. Today, Microsoft's guidance says info on making bootable USB sticks work will be available at a later date, and the date when they'll start enforcing the new boot loader setup is yet to be announced. Unfortunately we're left with more unknowns than knowns.
