SoftOrbits bundles quite a few features into Photo Retoucher 11, and they generally work, but unfortunately none of them are close to best in class. The AI Denoise works now at the strong setting, where an earlier version did not, and it does help, but IMHO it doesn't work well enough to outdo the sale price from cheaper competition, e.g., Franzis. The AI Restoration didn't seem to do much, but that's par for the course when it comes to AI photo restoring/enhancing software. Likewise, while Retoucher 11's AI Colorization works, the best part of that feature is the ability to do the work yourself manually, which is again par for the course -- I've tried a bunch, and even using Photoshop's tool, the most I can say is it's a starting point for DIY. The only real fail I got was using the removal tool -- you're better off using the AI tool in Windows Photos.
The software would not run, showing an error message that msvcp140.dll was missing -- I copied that file to Windows\ System32 in my Win11 VM and afterward it worked fine. Unlike a lot of AI-based software it does not require a separate graphics card -- it ran fine, if a bit slowly in my VM. Installing the software adds the folder Program Files (x86)\ SoftOrbits\, but only to hold 2 files for uninstall -- the bulk of the app goes in Users\ [UserName]\ AppData\ Roaming\. You could *probably* copy/paste it somewhere else and run as Admin, as restricted access to the 2 Program Files folders is usually why developers install apps in the User folders. Besides associating its file name extension with the app, installation adds 2 registry entries, one for SoftOrbits and one for uninstall.
