Microsoft shut down a number of accounts without offering any real explanation to those effected or journalists looking into the matter. It could be something that they've been doing for years, and there's no reason to think they won't do it in the future. Microsoft may have been justified, or not -- they haven't said. It could be a Microsoft employee or AI acting rogue. And no one has any way of knowing if the next targets are going to be you or me. Microsoft provides whatever services purely at their pleasure, whether you pay for them or not, and judging by the Eu's efforts in taking Microsoft to court, there's really nothing we can do about it other than not using their services.
SO, long story short, you can continue to use OneDrive or Microsoft's email service all you want, but PLEASE don't rely on them for anything irreplaceable. Don't use an outlook.com email without some other means of accessing your online accounts. Don't store anything exclusively on OneDrive -- have backup copies somewhere else. Tomorrow they could very well be gone.
