Time will tell if the *rumor* Richard Devine writes about is true or not. It could turn out that the new AI features on new ARM powered laptops were just optimized for the Snapdragon chips first -- Win11 24H2, which contains the new AI stuff won't be released for a couple few months yet, so Microsoft still has time. It's also possible that the new AI features only work with an NPU, ignoring more powerful GPUs that are already present. But if the *rumor* is accurate, millions of PCs, laptops, and tablets with GPUs MUCH more capable than the Snapdragon's NPU won't see the features until next year -- by that time the author asks, will it even matter?
