In a nutshell, Microsoft added a prompt for their AI image generator to Paint, so you don't have to bother creating an image with the prompt in Edge, or visiting their image creator or designer sites -- bing[.]com/create designer.microsoft[.]com/ -- then importing the image you downloaded into Paint. One example of what you can do is: with Paint's new layers you can generate a background scene on one layer, import a photo on a higher layer, and use the new background removal tool to swap backgrounds near effortlessly. That said, it's not going to replace Photoshop any time soon.
Dubbed Cocreator in Paint, it's been available for a while to Insiders, and is only now rolling out to everyone. Microsoft still seems a bit uncertain on how it's going to pay for all the money it's spent on AI. If you use their image generator online, e.g., with Edge, you get 100 Boost credits per day -- run out of credits and it will take longer to get results. With Paint you get 50 credits that don't seem to ever replenish -- I tried Cocreator weeks ago, and still shows only 49 credits. Some articles talked about buying more Boost credits using Microsoft Rewards points, but I couldn't find any specific info, and I couldn't find anything at all about replenishing credits in Paint. There is talk however, of Microsoft making changes to their Rewards program -- neowin[.]net/news/microsoft-rewards-has-reportedly-eliminated-its-daily-edge-search-bonus-among-other-changes/ -- so maybe something will appear next month?
