If you used Google's Android image Markup Tool, whether on a Pixel or another brand of phone that used the tool, edited photos still contained ~80% of the original. The security researchers who found the problem use the example of a photo of a credit card that had its number blocked using the black marker tool, where it was possible to recover the full credit card number. And it's been that way for 5 years. A recovery tool has been published online so you can check images that you have posted, assuming you remember all the photos you posted that you might be concerned about.
